Today we’re excited to be connecting with Kelly Mccoy again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Kelly , always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Kelly McCoy is a fiber artist with a passion for crochet. She is the Founder and Chief Creator at Spirit & Flow accessories.

Spirit & Flow represents my journey to find joy, calm, and peace in the world. In 2013, I experienced a profound loss when my mother died by suicide, which left me devastated. However, I found light in the darkness thanks to a loving circle of family and friends, mental health counseling, and meditative practices.

One such practice is crochet. The meditative rhythm of crocheting, with its repetitive and soothing movements, helps with the release of serotonin, which in turn helps regulate mood. As a child, I loved to crochet, but as I grew older, life got in the way, and I let my artistic practice slip. Then, several years ago, something inspired me to pick up a hook and some yarn, and I started creating again. This personal connection to my art makes each piece unique and special.

Most of the time, I begin creating without a specific outcome in mind. As I work, my creations take shape through the inspiration I find in the colors and textures around me. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind; once a customer purchases it, that artwork is gone forever, making them the exclusive owner of that particular creation.

I believe mental health is crucial for everyone’s overall well-being. That’s why I am committed to donating a percentage of my sales to non-profit organizations that eliminate barriers to accessing mental health and wellness support. This is not just a business decision, but a personal commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

By purchasing my art, you not only bring a unique piece into your life but also contribute to the mental health cause. My identity is deeply rooted in my love for nature, cultural heritage, creativity, and the art of crochet. I genuinely enjoy sharing these passions with others.

Spirit & Flow creations are Inspired by Life, Made by Hand.
