We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsey Guthrie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I learned from a fellow mom how she created her balloon business and I knew it was exactly the creative outlet I needed. I love creating things and doing anything artistic. Then I started adding in the rentals and backdrops since they go together at events.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My company Party Barn is unique because we will work with any event or individual to make their vision and idea. All events are celebrating something very special and I love being able to be a part of that!
As a mom, I found a passion I can do while still raising my son which is so important.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being a 4th generation CO native(now a Missourian) I have alot of favorite spots but if I really wanted to show a traveler a good time[locally] I would start off by showing them the Mountains of course. We like to take our UTV on trails and go camping , so I’d show them a proper “camping trip”. Of course a drive through Estes as well.
Then I’d take them to eat some green Chile, maybe a hotdog at Marcos Tacos? Grab a drink on the patio at Collisions and a hike through Sandstone Park or Rabbit Mountain. Depending on the season, snowboarding or horseback riding trails !
