We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Guttman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I grew up in a Realtors home in Orange County, CA. Helping people build wealth by owning real estate and solving problems are two things I really enjoy. A mortgage is like a rubics cube, there are a lot of moving parts that have to line up. Every client’s situation is different. It’s an interesting career, I learn new things all the time!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I got started in the mortgage industry in 2004, when there was still sub prime lending going on. It was very easy to qualify people and some used their homes like an ATM machine. After the Great Recession of 2008-9 when half the people left the industry and nationwide licensing was introduced, the mortgage programs that were available were limited. I am proud that I made it through 2008-9 as I have worked by referral since 2005. In 2015 I added Reverse Mortgages as one of the programs I offer as several safeguards were put in place at that point to make these loans safer for senior homeowners. I work with the largest independent mortgage broker in the country, C2 Financial. In 2021 & 2022 I was the top Reverse Mortgage Producer for the company. I have great clients, partners and people I work with!
