Meet Kevin Lovegreen | Author and Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Lovegreen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, what do you attribute your success to?

Strong faith that God has sent me on this journey and with His help anything is possible. Next, acting on that belief, with unwavering determination. I never stopped pushing, learning, driving and creating. Failure was not an option! Finally, surrounding myself with outstanding people along the way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I just finished my eighteen book and started my nineteenth. That keep me busy. I love writing books. Whether it’s another Lucky Luke’s Adventure book or a faith based book that God has inspired me to write, I keep on writing. And this only started ten years ago. Before that, I never dreamed of writing a book. 

Another thing that keeps me busy is traveling around the country visiting schools. My goal is to create a reading frenzy everywhere I go. I love connecting and inspiring kids to read, write and enjoy the outdoors. 

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is an interesting question. I guess my wife and I would take them up north to our cabin and hunting property. Showing people the beauty, calmness and adventure that Minnesota has to offer would be fun for me. Fishing for crappies, bass and walleye would be on the docket. Cooking them a pan-fried fish dinner with potatoes and baked beans would be on the menu. Other menu items would be venison steak and Cornish game hens on the grill. We could spend evenings on our pontoon cruising the lake and watching the sun set during happy hour. Hopefully the Loon babies would give us a show.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife, Sue has been by my side from the beginning of all this craziness. There is a lot to thank her for, but possibly the most important is simply putting up with it all. Next, my daughter Crystal has been there to read each book and give me honest feedback. I thank her for that and for all her positive encouragement. Chris Swanson was one person that believed in me from the beginning, and I am grateful of that. Finally, the one person that helped jump start my business was Kelly Jaedike. Kelly joined me three years ago and was the integrator I needed to get things done. He consistency, focus and positive energy helped things take off. I am convinced, our paths did not cross by accident, and I thank God every day for that.  And last but not least, all the amazing marketing and shipping superstars that have helped along the way. They all have a special place in my heart.
