Meet Kevin Moore | Owner/Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been a top performing sales career individual and grew to manage top performing sales teams. During my MBA we were told we’d start a fake LLC and throughout our studies we’d learn about the different stages of running a business. I decided to form an actual LLC, M3 Tactical Tech. By the time I was done with my MBA I had a real company in an industry I have a passion for, high end custom knives and tools.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It was a hard start but I had a lot of experience from my past careers pounding the pavement and establishing new business. Mistakes are definitely necessary and I’ve deviated greatly from my original business model into what works for M3. We manufacture high end custom knives and tools in a competitive market. The most important thing has been building relationships with retailers and YouTube reviewers and building those with the right ones I’ll add. It’s been important to align M3 with the right vendors, retailers and promoters. It has taken a substantial amount of time. We’ve also had to prove ourselves and take and implement feedback. Quality and MADE IN THE USA is what sets us apart. To prove that we’ve demonstrated our knives and tools in videos and given private tours of our shop. The consumer market also wants to see that we stand by our product so over time our customers have been able to see how we take care of them if an issue arises with their product. I truly care about each of my customers, being a husband and father myself I know it’s important to have the things we use our hard earned money for, to live up to the cost.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take the time to tailor the trip to my friend as all my friends are different and what I find interesting might not be to my friend. If my friend didn’t have an opinion I’d want to find a sports bar in a lively atmosphere to play cornhole, darts, shoot pool, or something to that effect where we could compete, talk, have a cigar and a beer and kick back & relax. I also enjoy being in the woods so fishing or camping would also be on the table, especially if we had a whole week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say the most recognition goes to my wife Angelique and our now three sons. I started my company so that when our boys become of age they’d have the option to work with me. They have watched me start this company, they’ve been around me during the hard times during start up and now with me in the good times when things have began to blossom and pay off. It’s been a tough road. Our sons Landen & Caden have always boosted my own excitement and my family is a big reason for my drive to push on and stay focused.
