Meet Kristen Wurth | Java Jams Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Wurth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, how does your business help the community?
Java Jams brings the people together! We’re an inclusive community and I think the concept around daytime coffee raves allows for that space. I love the edm scene especially here in Denver, but I was craving something else. Don’t get me wrong, I love a big production show and we’re incredibly spoiled with all the artists that travel here for our venues and even all the hot local artists that live here… but it’s so nice to throw a daytime party or should I say “darty”, socialize and listen to an up-and-coming local artist …all before 2pm on a Saturday then go about your day.. or continue the day with the coffee rave crew.
That’s the beauty of it, Java Jams is a safe space which enables people to talk to each other and still dance. I wanted to create and provide something to the community I’ve been lacking here in Denver, a 3rd home along with my passion for supporting small businesses, local artists and having a good time without spending $100+ on a show. Let’s end this lonely pandemic together with coffee, music and community. We also emphasize on femme DJs and businesses, let’s shine light here, it’s been male dominated for far too long.
I’ve also been so inspired by all the support too. This instagram account has attracted like-minded people with genuine interest in what we are doing. There are many I’ve connected with who I haven’t met yet, who keep showing love, and those who I’ve met through the account, especially our DJ crew, you have a special place in my heart. That’s what this is all about – community, growth and support.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a marketing professional but a creative at heart. I am constantly developing ideas and business plans and launching something. Art comes in all formats and mine comes through ideas and branding. I love dance, music, photography and I water color sometimes. I am also now learning to DJ… mixing music is such a high, and I can’t wait to learn more! Overall, I get to explore creativity with Java Jams in so many different ways, with creating social content, building community with the brand and learning more about music. It’s been life changing and I hope that this brings happiness to everyone else involved.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh hell yea, love this question: Obviously Red rocks and Mission Ballroom. Explore and hike some mountain towns like Salida and Buena Vista or go to Steamboat – check out the rodeo there and float down the river.
If we’re in Denver:
Explore all of RiNo, Beacon, Banchee House, Sorry Gorgeous Rooftop
For food, coming from a big foodie here: Little Man ice cream, Jovanina’s Broken Italian, Corsica, YaYas Mediterranean on Colfax, Cart Driver, MAKFam, Sera’s Ramen Encalve
Coffee: Panda Coffee House, Coffee Sarap, Banh & Butter Bakery Cafe, Steam Espresso Bar, Hooked on Colfax, RoosterCat, Moonflower Coffee
Other random things: Botanical Gardens, Cheeseman park, Jazz in the Park at City park, any farmers market, First Friday in Santa Fe art District, Electric Dream Boutique, or a day shopping vintage on South Broadway!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shout-out to all my lady friends that I tapped for suggestions and ideas before launching during the winter of 2024-2025. It was so encouraging to see others excited about this idea and brand and also check my spelling on marketing material haha. When I say female founded on community vibes – Java Jams truly is. Also, thank you to all for listening to my non-stop talk about Java Jams, I’m truly passionate about this brand and it’s always on my mind.
Java Jams grew from other coffee day parties I was seeing in LA, like AM Radio and events in Europe, so thanks for the inspo! For over a year this idea has been brewing in my head, and I couldn’t figure out how the Bass Capital of the edm scene doesn’t have this yet?! So okay, being a marketing branding professional and edm lover, I got the confidence to launch it finally… All of a sudden 2025 is the year of coffee raves and I am so about it! Yes, “competition” with Java Jams, but each brand I’ve seen is so different and doing their own thing. With how crazy everything is and businesses shutting down and tighter budgets, let’s get more dance parties in these local businesses. It’s all so inspiring, I can’t complain about that so shoutout to you all for launching the scene with us in Denver. We’re doing something amazing here.
Final shout out to Vinay, owner of Panda Coffee House – for being the first cafe to say YES to my idea and letting me host our first event in April. Thank you for believing and trusting in me and for also being a great partner to Java Jams. This is what community is all about. Truly thankful! Go check them out, best coffee and matcha drinks in Denver!
