Meet Kristina Johnson | Social Media Management

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristina, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I think that my work life balance has changed a lot since I started my company, especially with COVID. I haven’t been able to work at a coffee shop or have the schedule that I would like. I try to set a schedule that I am done with work at a reasonable time so that I can start making dinner, hang with my boyfriend and kitties. I also like to use my “lunch time” to go outdoors if possible so that I can get some fresh air. I love going to the park and clearing my head between projects and meetings.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I stepped away from a great paying job in Boulder to start my own social media management company in August of 2019. I can’t believe that Amuse Social just hit a year! I think what sets me apart from others is that I took that leap of faith and went for it. I could have waited longer to be “completely ready” but I didn’t and am glad that I went for it. The lessons I have learned along the way are that sometimes a client isn’t the right match with you and that is OKAY. That doesn’t mean that you are a failure. I am at an age where I realize what I really want in life and my professional career. I would want the world to know that Amuse Social is a brand that wants to help improve their brand via social media management. Many people do not understand how important social media is for their brand and Amuse Social helps put that in perspective. Many small business owners wear 10 different hats in their company and do not have the time to push their brand on social media; I want to help local businesses make their brands shine online.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend needs to visit and when she does I would take her immediately to RiNo district to show her all the art and get some pizza and oysters at Cart Driver (one of my absolute faves!). Then maybe some more tasty and creative food at Super Mega Bien. Love that Super Mega Bien is owned by a female! I would then take her the next morning to the Botanical Gardens and then walk through Cheesman Park as that is my neighborhood park in Cap Hill. I would then take her to dinner on the patio in Cherry Creek at Le Bilboquet. Their ambiance and decor is so beautiful and they definitely have the best patio in all of Denver, not to mention delicious French cuisine. I would also (if it was possible) take her to the Art Museum and to some cute boutiques like Wish in the Gaylord Historic District. She has never been to Red Rocks so we could take a hike or catch a concert there or see the drive-in movies they are showing there now. It would be such a fun trip, I need to make plans with her soon!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I loved working with the women at Charley Co. workspace in the Source Hotel. Sadly, due to COVID she had to shut the doors, but the those women over the last year that I met there, built friendships with and had help me with Amuse Social deserve a BIG shoutout. THANK YOU!
