Meet Kylee Bandy | After Loss Consultant and Legacy Organizer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylee Bandy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kylee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea for After Loss Advisors came from personal experience, but the decision to start my own business was about more than just filling a gap—it was about building something I wholeheartedly believe in and creating a life that reflects what truly matters to me.
When my father passed away in 2018, my family and I weren’t just grieving—we were completely overwhelmed by the logistical side of loss. Even with the support of attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors, there were still so many tasks that fell on us to figure out. I remember thinking, “Why isn’t there someone who helps with this?” That question never left me. The more I learned, the more I realized how many families were struggling through the same experience. I knew I wanted to be that resource for others—to provide clarity, support, and relief in the moments when people need it most.
Beyond wanting to serve others, losing my dad reshaped my perspective on time, work, and what I wanted my life to look like. You always hear and know that life is fragile, and the way we spend our days matters. When you lose someone close to you or have your own life changing experience, you realize just how true it is. Starting my own business meant creating a career that aligns with my values—helping others while also making space for the people and experiences that matter most to me. I wanted the autonomy to build something meaningful while also having the flexibility to be present for my loved ones and live a life that feels fulfilling.
I fully believe in the power and possibility of what After Loss Advisors offers. End-of-life and after-loss support shouldn’t be something families have to navigate alone. Every day, I get to help people prepare, find peace of mind, and lighten their burdens, and that’s a responsibility I take to heart. Starting this business was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made—not just for me, but for the people I get to serve.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After Loss Advisors was built on the belief that no one should have to navigate the logistics of loss alone. We provide Legacy & Estate Organizing to help individuals get their affairs in order and After Loss Consulting to guide families through the overwhelming tasks that follow a death.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just provide advice—we step in and help. From financial accounts to beneficiary tracking and digital assets, we handle the real-life, practical details that often fall through the cracks. Whether planning ahead or navigating loss, we bring clarity, structure, and compassionate support to situations that often feel chaotic.
After my father passed away in 2018, my family was left navigating an overwhelming number of estate tasks—many of which we didn’t even know needed to be done. I realized there was a huge gap in support, and I wanted to create a service that would make this process easier for others.
Starting a business in an entirely new space was challenging. A big part of my work has been educating people about the value of after-loss support. Networking has been key—building relationships with estate attorneys, financial professionals, and senior care experts who now trust me with their clients.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that there is no “one right way” to do things in business. I had to carve out a unique niche, educate my audience, and create services that didn’t exist before.
I want people to know that planning ahead isn’t about focusing on death—it’s about making life easier for the people you love. And if you’re dealing with loss, you don’t have to navigate it alone. There’s support, and there’s a way forward.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When we have friends come from out of state to visit, we have a pretty typical itinerary we share with all! We typically spend the week enjoying a mix of great food, outdoor adventures, and local favorites. We love strolling and shopping in Downtown Littleton, stopping for a warm drink at In Tea in the winter or a sweet treat from Inside Scoop Ice Cream in the summer. Dining out is a must, and some of our favorite spots are Angelo’s Littleton for incredible Italian, Cuba Cuba (the OG location on Delaware St) for the best mojitos and Cuban food, and Sierra for its delicious menu and stunning atmosphere. When it comes to the outdoors, we’d make time for a walk along the High Line Canal and get out on the water with some paddleboarding at Chatfield Reservoir. A day trip into the mountains is always on the list, with endless hiking options along Highway 285—especially near Staunton State Park or Kenosha Pass. Whether exploring the city, hitting a local brewery, or just enjoying the laid-back charm of South Denver, there’s no shortage of amazing places to check out!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support, guidance, and encouragement of so many people.
First and foremost, my parents deserve a huge shoutout. They not only taught me about entrepreneurship from an early age but also instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and resilience. Throughout every venture and career path I’ve pursued, they have supported and guided me, always encouraging me to follow my passions and trust my instincts.
I also want to recognize my husband, who has always been an incredible entrepreneur and dreamer. From the very beginning, he never once stopped believing in me. His unwavering support, encouragement, and example as a business owner have inspired me to take risks, trust in my vision, and build something truly meaningful.
A special thank you as well to Shane Phillips, who has been an invaluable mentor and advisor. His insight and encouragement have played a key role in shaping the direction of After Loss Advisors and helping me grow as a business owner.
