We had the good fortune of connecting with Landon Loewen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Landon, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m born and raised in Loveland I started Sauce Daddy Hot Sauce last July and this is my first full year as a business. My family has always been into growing food and farming and were pioneers of Loveland. I have always been into peppers and spicy things and growing all types of veggies and fruits. I feel that all these years of growing plus my family history has bloomed into producing food products.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work for another Sauce Company, Burns and McCoy and they have helped me learn the industry,I am making sauce for them and myself 5 days a week so it can get pretty spicy some days! I started Sauce Daddy Hot Sauce last July and this is my first full year as a business. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for Acidified Foods Production.
My goal with making Hot Sauce is to bring the consumer flavors and spices from other regions of the world,
that are not as available at the local markets.
I am inspired by Peruvian Culture, Carribean Peppers and tropical fruits and the spices and flavors of Thailand.
I source my peppers and produce from certified growers in the United States.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love camping and adventures so we would hit the road to the mountains and find some hot springs. Stopping along the way, finding local food trucks and small town restaurants. We would fly my drones and do photography and hike to some hidden lakes . Eventually coming back home back to reality.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Jay Turner with Burns and McCoy Hot Sauce. He has been a mentor and has helped me with any business questions.
