We had the good fortune of connecting with Mollie Coniglio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mollie, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Social Media has become part of life for most of today’s workforce. It’s second nature to most people, as they use it in their daily lives for one reason or another. These workers are uniquely qualified to add the responsibility of managing business Social Media platforms because they grew up with this form of Business to Consumer communication. While they are comfortable with Social Media in their daily life, just a few quick tweaks and they can switch to using it for business reasons. When these workers take over the digital messaging for business, they create an authentic voice which representing the business and this builds a stronger bond of trust between business and consumer. The stronger the trust between the brand and the consumer, the quicker a follower becomes a consumer. In short, higher levels of trust result in higher sales!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I was little, my parents decided to branch out on their own and open their own business. I watched them work together towards a common business goal, all while being present with my sister and I at home as a family. Through these efforts I saw first hand what a family owned business can do for a community and how it can lift up an entire group of people.

After college I watched many family owned businesses either ignore Social Media because they didn’t know how to engage, didn’t think they had time, or couldn’t afford to outsource this marketing effort. Many of these places are either out of business today or not as far along in their goals as they wanted; they just didn’t connect with their target audience where that audience is already consuming information. Social Media get’s your products or services right in front of consumers in a way that is easy for them to follow. I have spent the past 10 years working in the digital marketing world and in this time I have helped large corporations, higher education, small businesses, nonprofits, athletic teams, medical practices and retail businesses learn how to connect their in-person experience with their online messaging.

My parents never wavered in showing my sister and I how hard work can yield much fruit in a variety of aspects of life. I became obsessed with creating a solution for other family owned businesses to avoid the potential pitfalls of digital marketing. Looking back, every moment I watched my parents build their business was setting the stage for me to do the same. They are my inspiration to help businesses capitalized on the benefits of a solid Social Media presence, without braking the bank or spending all their time online. I know how much every penny counts to a small business and Social Media shouldn’t be avoided or any reason nor should a company misses out on the chance to lift up their community, just like my parents did for ours!
