We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry Legend and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larry, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Being the father to my son Jeremiah was the best thing that has happened to me. The most important thing I’ve done as a parent was not giving up! I felt like I went through a fair amount of issues that clouded my mindset and i had no motivation to look for any type of positivity for an outcome. My son being 3, has so much personality that he does get a little frustrated when things don’t work out how it’s supposed to but I encourage him to continue to try and look at issues in a different point of view.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a recording artist in the state of Colorado, many will notice that a lot of peers do music, but what separates me from many is the ambition and dedication I have for music. I taught myself to become more versatile and I notice most artist in Denver sounded the same, I want to have a sound that gives off a vibe, a sound that attracts all crowds, all age appropriate crowds, etc. Over the years I have been told my sound improved and just constantly creating versatile music. There was challenges to that process because I started off with rap and within a few months I switched to pop and R&B, and less rap. I would love the world or those interested in my work to know that I’m a young, ambitious, dedicated artist just waiting for my opportunity.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man! If there was no pandemic going on, I’d take someone to Mile High Spirits bar. MHS is a chill, relaxing, lowkey bar downtown. The workers, security, owners are just as chill. I have met Denver Nuggets Gary Harris there, present and past Broncos such as Shelby Harris, Knowshon Moreno and plenty others! I would like to call this my favorite bar downtown!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a shout-out to my supportive family, friends, love ones, and Bentley Records! Bentley Records is an independent label worldwide but has an office located in NYC. They provided so many tools and resources from distribution, publishing, features, tours, etc.
