We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Bridges and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I grew up in the small town of Homerville, GA and always had dreams of moving far away and working in the fashion industry. My family was not wealthy at all, so at times I found myself reworking clothes, making skirts from pants, and making new outfits from what I had on hand. I have also cared about our planet since I was a kid, so I am glad my business plays a role in helping the environment. When you put those two things together- you get what I am doing today: selling new and used clothes online. I love my job!

What should our readers know about your business?
I am very blessed to be in the situation I am in. Growing up, I always thought starting a business would be hard. But with me, it happened naturally and at the right time. In 2020, I got a call saying I was being laid off. I had just got my own one bedroom apartment a week earlier, so I was super scared that I was going to lose everything. I decided to grow where I was planted, and with the last $30 I had, I went and invested in inventory, and started selling full time on Poshmark and depop! Since then, I have saved exactly 650 items from being thrown in the landfill, and all of my shipping materials are donated to me by locals. It is my goal to run my business as sustainable as possible. Everyday I wake up ready to work and make my customers happy. As a little girl, I wanted a boutique- and look where I am at now!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
-Meow wolf Denver -The Stanley Hotel Estes Park because I love all things spooky
-I am vegan, so I would love to take them to eat at Bang Up to The Elephant or Watercourse for an all vegan feast!
-I live in Fort Collins, so Horsetooth Reservoir is my go to spot for pictures and water activities in the summer.
Most of our time would be spent at home hanging out, drinking champagne, and catching up.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think that success starts with the encouragement at home, and I have so much support and help from my lovely boyfriend. My friends and my family also make this an easy journey. Reviews from my customers also keep me motivated- I love when they are happy with their items and come back to shop. I also have a manifestation board for the year that keeps me accountable. I have already achieved so much and I can’t wait to achieve more.
