We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Fusco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I truly believe that the most important factor behind MY brand is kindness and being personable! I love that people can message me at any time if they need help with taking care of a plant or helping them find a gift for a family member or friend. It’s a tough world out there and showing up for people is my favorite part of this whole process.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve owned ELEPH now for about 5 years! I started on the Big Island of Hawai’i making small gifts for friends. From there, I opened up a shop and learned A LOT in the short time my shop was around. I met a lot of amazing people who helped me excel even when I moved back to Colorado. This is what I contribute to my continued success- the support! I love creating my own schedule and saying “no” when something doesn’t fit me or my brand. Working with succulents and flowers and creating something so beautiful out of something nature ALREADY made is a magical experience. The world we live in is such a delightful place when you stop to notice its beauty. Sharing that beauty is all I strive for.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Colorado offers the most amazing experiences. Red Rocks has had a very special place in my heart ever since I was young so naturally that would be stop number one! I strive to support small businesses especially in these trying times so anywhere that has good people, good food and a delicious local craft beer.. El Five is always a go-to spot for a cocktail with the BEST view in Denver. Rocky Mountain National Park is my favorite spot for hiking and being outside in the summertime. Because I grew up in Colorado, I have been skiing since I’ve been walking! Wintertime is dreamy on a bluebird day. Afterwards, I’d enjoy a beer at one of my favorite breweries, Living the Dream in Littleton. To end the trip, the Botanical Gardens are always a necessary stop. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My creativity and passion stays alive because of my family, close friends and my partner! They are there day by day cheering me on, sharing my posts and always spreading the word. They believe in everything I do and I can’t ask for anything more than that. It keeps me going!
