We had the good fortune of connecting with Liliana Gala and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liliana, how do you think about risk?
Throughout my life, I have been an entrepreneur, and risk-taking has been an inherent aspect of my journey. Life inherently presents uncertainty, and so does the ownership of a business. When an entrepreneur successfully executes on calculated risks, it signifies their ability to analyze issues effectively. They can devise a well-suited solution, create a comprehensive plan, and then implement it meticulously. As a risk taker, I have honed my resilience, which has also provided me with opportunities that I might not have otherwise encountered.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been one of a few nationwide licensed massage therapist who is also a certified Active Release Technique Provider, based in the Northern Colorado area.

For 20 years, Ive helped people eliminate acute and chronic pain fast and effectively through manual therapy treatments. clientele has ranged from weekend warrior to professional athlete.

I strongly believe in a consistent strength and conditioning exercise regime for preventing injury, staying pain free and aging gracefully. I’m co-owner of EDX Fitness, an online fitness coaching service that is used in combination with my manual therapy for guaranteed results.

Being an entrepreneur is like riding a roller coaster: one day is great and the next can be a disaster. You’ll need a great deal of persistence but also a growth mindset to be successful. And only you get to determine what success looks like.

Honestly, becoming a mom was one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever taken on. I’ve grown in ways I wasn’t even aware were possible and have developed into a better person thanks to my kids. I can take those lessons and apply it to my career and beyond.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in the Colorado Front Range is an absolute dream! I’m an avid hiker, so I make sure to hit the trails weekly. When out-of-towners visit, I always make sure to introduce them to some of the best sights without overwhelming them with extreme elevations. One of my favorite hikes is in Eldorado Canyon, followed by a relaxing afternoon at Avery’s in Boulder. No trip to Colorado is complete without a visit to Estes Park. I’m fortunate enough to live close to the Rocky Mountain National Park, but I highly recommend renting a cabin there for at least a few days to fully immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty. A day hike in the park, followed by a leisurely stroll along the riverwalk with a coffee in hand, and perhaps even spotting some majestic elk, makes for an unforgettable day. If you have little ones like me, I prefer taking them on easier hikes such as Devils Backbone in Loveland. Afterward, we can indulge in some delicious food and drinks at the Sweetheart Winery, which boasts an amazing outdoor lawn where the kids can run around freely.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband has been my unwavering source of support throughout our lives. We have embarked on a business venture, welcomed two children, relocated across the country three times, purchased homes, and collectively matured and grown together. He has been my steadfast companion during challenging times and has consistently celebrated our successes. He has always served as a constant reminder of my potential and capabilities, encouraging me to pursue my aspirations with determination and confidence. It is not about questioning whether I can achieve my goals, but rather about actively seeking ways to make them a reality.
