Meet Lindsey Miller | Hairstylist & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because it aligned best with what felt the most natural for me. It’s extremely easy and natural to align ourselves with other people’s stories, struggles, and opinions. This can have an overall effect on our decisions, leading us to pursue careers that are out of our realm of interest and potential. I find most of my interests relating to hair styling, art, makeup, and fashion. Leaning in to what makes me happy is simply the best thing I can do for myself, and being able to turn that passion into a career makes it even more enjoyable and rewarding.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love the art of hairstyling because everyone has their own technique and style which makes each piece of art unique. I’ve learned a lot about discipline and comparison. Learning to stay true to your pace, your talent, your technique will set you apart, instead of trying to compare yourself to others and do what they do. It hasn’t been easy at all but I never expected it to, and I’m glad i’ve had to learn a lot for myself along the way! It has ultimately allowed me to shape myself into the stylist I dreamed of being!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Denver, I would definitely pick her up at the airport with a fresh Rise N Shine breakfast sandwich (Egg, Cheese, Bacon & Honey on the plain biscuit is heaven) and then take her to Tí Cafê for some coffee or tea! Then we would head to Temaki Den or Mika Sushi for lunch (any of their 5 locations are amazing) and then probably go shopping at Cherry Creek or Colorado Mills! For evening activities, I’d take her to Happy Camper for some food and drinks, then Whiskey Row to dance all night! There are so many places to try in Denver but these are definitely my go-to spots when I’m not in the mood to try something new and just want to enjoy a familiar environment!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate the first part of my shoutout to my parents, as they have supported me through so much. I would not be where I am without their motivation and love. The second person/place I want to give credit to is Brain Code Centers in Denver, and my therapist, Ursa. If you know me personally, then you know I have been recovering mentally since September 2021 through Neurofeedback therapy. Up until then, I did not see myself turning 23. Not very many people know or ever knew the severity of my mental wellbeing, but I was not ready to give up on life even though I wanted to. 2022 was a year of major growth and dedication, and I would not be here still if it weren’t for my family, friends, and Neurofeedback.
