We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorrie Myers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorrie, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Everyday we have new customers & donors come in. They are unaware that we exist and how we operate.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a former school volunteer, art organization volunteer and school secretary. I really had to step to the side and “get out of my own way” in order for this to work. Vision and control are 2 different things. I am a controlling person by nature and learning to be quiet, listen and let others lead has been a big lesson for me. Also, asking for help, ugh! What a lesson that has been.

I defiantly had to pull a lot of my skills learned as a school secretary to make things happen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my! Breakfast at Loyal Coffee or LaBaguette. Lunch at Shugas or Poor Richards. Dinner at Chiba Bar, Night Ramen, Paravincinis, too many places to name!

Hike at Garden of the Gods, take photos at the Manitou Arcade, visit the Pioneer Museum and Fine Arts Center. Music at the Ford Amphitheater, LuLu’s Downtown. First Friday……………………….of course, checking out Who Gives a SCRAP!

My “Shoutout” goes to all the family, friends, volunteers, employees, customers and donors that have made this little slice of crafting heaven possible. We couldn’t have done any of this without you!
