Meet Luna Cash | Creative Director of DejaView Productions

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luna Cash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luna, what inspires you?
My art and my life alike are inspired by the universal themes of the human experience—this undeniable thread that weaves us all together. This inspiration birthed DejaView Productions. Feeling stifled and unoriginal, I realized many stories I wanted to tell mirrored classic tales. That led me to explore the idea of universal themes, which I discovered are the key ingredient to any timeless story. Shared experiences like love, coming of age, betrayal, and self-discovery offer a platform for modern reimaginings of beloved literary works. That’s the premise of our upcoming show, Return to Atlantis, Seaside Cabaret, on August 17th at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom exploring the depths of desire and mystery with our modern, dark retelling of The Little Mermaid.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
DejaView Productions signifies a new look on old ideas—blending dance, circus, theatre, storytelling, and live music to take you on a journey of the senses. We retell beloved literary classics through a fresh perspective—something familiar yet unseen. It’s about giving ourselves permission to make art and tell stories authentically, merging universal themes of humanity into narratives that resonate with us all.
We are so excited to premiere our new show, Return to Atlantis, Seaside Cabaret, on August 17th at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. With two chances to experience the magic, step into the depths of desire and mystery with our modern, dark retelling of The Little Mermaid. This seductive cabaret promises an unforgettable night of sultry live music, mesmerizing dance, tantalizing burlesque, and breathtaking circus acts—all set against the enchanting backdrop of the ocean’s secrets.
The path of an artist is never a straight line and is rarely easy, but I believe struggle inspires art. I believe lasting art requires some level of challenge. The road has been bumpy, and I’ve changed courses many times, but they all seem to lead back to one place: I have a story to tell, and I will tell it, no matter what. Struggle breeds resilience, and I believe that’s what any artist truly needs above all else. All of my skills and experiences have led me to directing and producing my own company—without those trials and tribulations, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver and the greater Front Range have so much to offer, but for this trip, we’re spending the day in Denver’s Historic Five Points Neighborhood. Start with brunch at Mimosa—eggs benedict on the patio, sparkling drinks—say less. Then, head over to The Pearl (formerly The Mercury Cafe) for some art, coffee, and a casual book read. No visit to Five Points is complete without stopping at The Welton Street Cafe—an obvious choice for dinner. If you know, you know; if you don’t, go find out and support this community staple. Capping off the evening with an immersive performing arts experience, Return to Atlantis, Seaside Cabaret, at the historic Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom—an iconic venue filled with art and music for over a century.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of what my arts career and DejaView itself have blossomed into is due to my community. Picking just one person or organization would undermine the contributions of so many. The magic created on stage by DejaView Productions is a culmination of our collective experience—as a community, as society, as modern human beings. It is made not only from our successes and joy but also from our sorrow and hardships.
