We had the good fortune of connecting with LUV DOCTA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LUV, what is the most important factor behind your success?
There are many factors that can play a role in determining our success and our results. I believe the most important factor behind my success comes from having a clear vision and strategy. Along the journey of mine, and the field in music entertainment, we need to keep in mind: passion, consistency, networking, money, marketing and product. It’s so much that we can do and take on, but when it comes to creating a vision and making it into a reality, I look at it as a testament to our faith and how bad we want something. You get to learn a lot more about yourself along the process. Anybody can have talent… but what is going to separate that talent across billions of other people? How are you going to market that talent and turn it into dollars? This is a business. With this comes blood, sweat, and tears… and I’ve experienced much that I had even lost along the way; friends, family, relationships. Running a business is a lot of hard work (no matter what it is), and the music business is currently one of the toughest to break into and succeed. Be prepared for that level of commitment. No one is going to help you on your way. You’ll have to push forward yourself. Believe what you are doing. You can’t expect to gain fans if you aren’t a fan of yourself. Set yourself goals, and understand to enjoy the journey, and most importantly, be patient.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My passion and art is around music and building relationships. I am most proud of my development as an artist and staying consistent in my work. I am still here and that is what matters the most. This is all a test of faith. Think of it like the prophets, and how each and every one of them encountered some kind of struggle along the way. It’s never easy.. unless you just have someone to hand things to you. Yes, I’ve lost friends, family, and even relationships. I lost money and been scammed by a lot of it in this industry. I’ve learned to not give up and to make decisions for the business, despite a risk being involved. You have to take risks. You have to make mistakes and experience, so you can move better. It is what makes you at the end of the day. Ask yourself, “how bad do you want it?”. What motivates you on a daily basis? My brand falls around L.U.V. via Let Us Vibe. Its universal and it’s giving you spiritual guidance through love, relationships, life decisions and circumstances, entertainment, therapy and meditation. Take time to explore and learn from Luv Docta, because he’s the next big thing that’s bringing love back as well as RnB.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I consider myself entertaining and adventurous. In the big city of Chicago, a lot of activities to partake in and make memorable. Chicago is very known for their pizza so we’re going to Italian Fiesta, get the best deep dish at Lou Malnati’s. Great spot at Kitchen Kocktails we can check out. Get the best chicken from Harolds and mild sauce. Yumm! You can’t go wrong checking out Downtown, lakefront, boat cruise, catch the cub’s and Chicago bull’s game. Explore the sights of Navy Pier, museums, theatre and performing arts. Can’t forget the nightlife or when you just want to get loose. Let’s hit the nightclub lounge ‘underground’ or ‘sub51’ and a lot of other entertainment we can get into. I’ll like to do some skydiving, activities like paint & sip, wine tasting, and see what stage shows we can check out. Rather that’s comedy, dancing, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout the actual people and fans that has taken time to listen to my music since I started. I want to give a shoutout to Candice Burks who is a female promoter, owner, and event planner out of Chicago. Luv to Gerry who is CEO of bootcampradio, Taz da promoter, Paris Taylor and Money Maha from Power92 Chicago, Seandale from Rawtvradio, Hollywood Pompeii, DJ ZAI, and Essence from Essence Entertainment. Peace and luv to my Mother and family. I appreciate even those who doubted my vision. There are quite some people I came across and it done great good through appreciation and gratitude in the work I do. Thank you!
