We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn And Sean Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynn and Sean, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We loves animals, we love to share that love with others. It just made sense to start a business that allows us to do both.

What should our readers know about your business?
We have always been in the hospitality industry, working in restaurants, catering, bars, hotels and even cruise ships. We feel we understand what it takes to give a high level of service to our customers. We offer that same service with our roaming ranch. We also found it was very important to put our animal’s health and happiness first. So not only do we do that, but we teach that to our customers. How to hold, how to pet, how to read the emotions of the animal. We always want our guests and animals to have the best experience together, building respect and compassion for each other.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First things first I would have them visit our farm. The animals love when people visit and give them extra scratches and treats.
Depending on the time of year we would definitely visit some of our world class sporting venues. Would love to take them to an Avalanche game or maybe go cheer on the Rockies.
We would cruise the new 16th street mall and find some fun and exciting restaurants to try out while enjoying the people watching.
A Trip to the Denver Zoo, and the Keenesburg animal sanctuary are always at the top of our sightseeing tours. The animals there never disappoint.
Then we would take a couple days at our ranch up in the mountains. We would fish and hike and watch the sunsets over the 14’ers. No visit to the area is complete without a trip to the rocky mountains.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Can a donkey be our inspiration? We adopted June bug aka JB of Jb’s Roaming ranch in October of 2022. At that time, we lived in the city of Longmont, and she was to be a buddy for an aging horse on a family property in Ward. June bug is a mammoth Donkey, she was only 6 months old at the time, so roughly the size a pony. One week before we were to pick her up, the aging horse Willy passed away! We were devasted, and we couldn’t move a baby donkey up to the mountains to live by herself, we rescued Wilma (named to honor willy) from Burro Base Camp. she was a BLM Donkey who although previously being wild, knew her way around teaching JB to be the best donkey she could be. They instantly bonded, as donkeys do for life! After one winter up in the mountains, we knew we needed to find a place to bring them where we could all live together, and that is where JB Farms came to be. We found a small farm in Loveland, and have moved there, filled it with lots of animals and lots of love. We now host parties here and also bring our small animals on the road to share the love with people everywhere, whether it be our mobile petting zoo, or our beverage burros at weddings, we truly enjoy sharing our animals with everyone.
