We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Eddlemon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I became a mom at the age of 16 to my beautiful, darling daughter. Victoria.

My senior high school history teacher pointed me in the direction of cosmetology school. I was roaming the halls of my school during my senior year, and bumped into him. He probably doesn’t know how much of an impact that encounter had on my life but during that brief interaction of him asking me what I was going to do with my life, he told me that in time he has known me (4years) he has never seen me without my hair or make up done, and i might want to consider a career in the beauty industry. I graduated high-school that spring and started beauty school that fall.

I always.
Had my doubts in the career path that I had chosen.
But I had a young family and I needed to make money. I started at a chain salon, learning my strength and weaknesses , and moved on to work under two very talented barbers. Kristy, and a few years later Bob.

In 2015 my beautiful darling daughter who i’ve always encouraged to do something other than hair graduates from high school. She comes.
Home one day and tells me she signed up for beauty school.
She starts in two weeks. This took the wind out of my sail as she saw our young family struggle, early in my career. She assured me.This was the right path for her. She said “mom, i was raised in a Barbershop. I learned from the best. Did you honestly think it wasn’t going to happen?” I stood corrected. Victoria worked for a chain salon, gained a ton of product knowledge and when she felt confident in her craft she moved on to work at the barber shop I was at. In the span of three years, her and I gained a clientele of 400+ people. On her Birthday in 2024. We signed a lease and opened up our own Barbershop. VnV Barbershop.
We are open Tuesday through Saturday closed Sundays and Mondays staying true to the barber’s union agreement. We offer good quality haircuts at a great price. We provide a family friendly atmosphere and we make everyone feel welcomed. You’re either our friend or your family.
Everybody leaves with a smile on their face. After all, we’re fast, but we’re not good. Scratch That, I mean we’re good but we’re not fast.
So, to answer the question, what was the important factor behind my success.
The answer is, to never give up, and to always give it your all. Always do your best, Because you don’t know who might be watching you and cheering you on from the sidelines.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are your neighborhood barbershop.
We offer good quality haircuts at a reasonable price. But we’re also your friend. We have clients that have been with us for over 16 years. We will go through life with you, and hopefully you leave the shop happy. We are fluent in humor and laughter.

We truly care about every person that walks through our door, and we feel honored that you chose us, when barbershops are a dime a dozen.
Side note, it’s always halloween in our shop even down to our bowl of candy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Week long trip, in October.
First we drive to Golden and see the leaves change. Stop at Coors brewery for a tour. Red Rocks for a concert, Capital Hill for a walking ghost tour.
Rent a couple Harleys, and ride. We would ride to Boulder, Lyons, Niwot, and Estes. Have a bite to eat at Aunt Alice’s Kitchen in longmont.
Make our way to the Manitou incline!
Ouray and the Million dollar highway.
San Luis, the oldest town in Colorado.
And of course a haircut at VnV Barbershop.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shootout starts with my family.
My parents, my brothers, and my children. My daughter would reassure me that everything was going to work out and we made the right choice to start our business.
My son, for keeping us both calm

My former business partner Kristy. We started our business young, and naive. I know now what I should have known then, and I did apply the knowledge to my current situation.
And Bob the barber. He showed me so many old school techniques. When Bob would cut hair, his hands moved like they were dancing gracefully on someone’s head.

And last but not least, my husband. He is very supportive and helpful when it comes to running a business. He is also a business owner of a very successful construction company. He’s owned his business for 20+ years.
