We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Aey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maggie, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Helping others makes me happy because it allows me to connect with people and make a positive impact on their lives. Whether it’s something for the Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA) or Cozy Coats for Kids®, I always prioritize the question, “How can I make the most positive impact on the lives of the individuals involved?” This mindset drives me to actively seek ways to provide effective support, whether it’s through my decisions, actions, or contributions.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most excited for the continuing growth of the commercial property inspection industry. This sector is providing profitable opportunities and career paths for residential inspectors and tradespeople. Having initially started in the residential sector myself, I was consistently asked by inspectors how to enter the commercial sector. As an organization, we have successfully tackled this challenge by developing comprehensive education and standards for the industry. An essential lesson we have learned is the importance of actively listening to those within our market in order to shape our developments.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I would take them on the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway, starting in Estes Park and ending in Black Hawk. This route provides epic views, opportunities to explore cool towns, and a good selection of places to eat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I credit my success and current position in life to the support and mentorship provided by Nick Gromicko, the founder of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI®), and Paige Weise, the CEO of Tree Ring Digital. The business and leadership knowledge they have shared with me have played a significant role in shaping my professional growth.
