We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Dupree and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcus, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well I was homeless and I use to go to the library every day and just sit and this older white lady would share her lunch with me every day so I would have something to eat and invite me into the library I would sit eat with her and read books on how to build computers. So I would teach myself a skill eventually so one day I was walking by a mission and a church group was doing outreach there then this family saw I was giving my jacket to someone who didn’t have one. They approached me and we got to talking they found I didn’t even have a home and was trying to help someone less fortunate. They offered me a spare room in their house and my birthday was coming up in a few days they asked me what I wanted and I said a computer tower and some parts. They got them for me and in about a month or so I build my own computer and built my own website and started my own podcast Sparkx Radio. God gave me the vision to give back because someone was kind enough to give back to me so I wanted to help the artist all over the world get their music heard. I provided a platform for the unheard and startup business like mine who don’t have much money for advertising so I charge less and give more so the business can get started. So I guess the answer to that question is I just wanted to give back in some way to the unheard Music Artist and the Business that is unknown.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, we are www.sparkxradionetwork.com we are a privately owned Media network. We are Radio and Tv we are located on Roku & Amazon Fire Tv search Sparkx TV. We service the underserved the unknown business or unknown or Known Music Artist. We do our best to help those who are just getting started in business or their music career. We are most proud of the ability to provide a unique service. I admit it was not easy to get to where I am in Business today I have had my business name stolen 3 times and my professional contacts were stolen and lots of challenges along the way more money more problems. But through research on copyrights and licenses and branding lessons learned and staying consistent no matter what is how I stayed in business I would love the world to know that we are a small but mighty professional business that love to help people who are just trying to get started in life you never know that if you do for that small business today they will never forget when they become a huge business who believed in them when no one else would. I truly believe if more people had the attitude to serve others that we could eliminate a lot of problems in this world my moto each one teach one. it cost nothing to help someone along your way to success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well if my friend came to visit first thing we would do is go to benihana and let them get the food prepared in front of them really cool experience. then we would visit www.academyridingstables.com and take a breathtaking horseback ride in Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods and visit Buffalo Bills Grave and head to Glenwood Springs and visit hot springs and go to rent a cabin in Estes Park Colorado is a truly beautiful place to visit.
