We had the good fortune of connecting with Mario Barhma and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mario, why did you pursue a creative career?
For the longest I can remember I’ve always had a creative look at life, originally I used to this it was because I was a child.
but going one day I sort of realized that being creative is the most natural to me and music happened to be the one thing I was most fond of.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I make EDM music genres such as: dubstep, trap, future bass and more.
what sets me apart from others is probably my sound, I’ve been told my a lot of fellow artists that I have a specific sound in my music.
I’m extremely proud of the speed I have learned all I know, I’m super excited to see where my music will end up this new year, and see all the wonderful opportunities the come along the way.
I definitely reached this point by making music every day with a dedication to practice, I learned a lot by helping other artist on how to promote my art and how to reach out for opportunities, it wasn’t easy but it wasn’t painful because of just how much I love to make music.
the biggest lessons I learnt along the way are definitely, practice, don’t compare yourself to someone who’s been doing the same work as you longer and has more experience and finally that by helping others you will never lose.
I want the world to know that my music is always evolving and as long as people love music, I will be here making music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
if i had a friend visit locally, i’d definitely take them to the city i always went, to show them the local food and the city centre with all the people and all the shops there.
the local pizzarias are definitely worth a visit. the city centre at night is a whole new experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
ever since i decided to make music and try to do it as a living i’d say the one person who has always supported me and always been there for me is my oldest sister, i never felt lost talking to her even at my worst times.
she’s always been there for me and she’s always been so supportive, i’m extremely grateful to have her as an older sibling.
