Hi Chef Mark, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our Vegan Fusion Culinary Academy helps our community and the world by training aspiring chefs, culinary professionals and passionate home cooks on the art of vegan cuisine. Learning how to prepare delicious plant based foods gives people the tools they need to create a healthier life, is a more environmentally sustainable way to feed humanity and helps create a more peaceful world.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Vegan Fusion Culinary Academy is unique in that it is one of the only professional culinary academys exclusively devoted to plant-based cuisine. Creating a brick and mortar school in Boulder CO is the culmination of many years work offering classes, workshops and culinary immersions internationally. Showing others how to prepare delicious vegan foods is a form of activism for me and a way to help create a sustainable and more harmonious future for humanity. The entrepreneurial journey is definitely a roller coaster with lots of rewards and many extremely challenging times. Belief in the underlying why, and the big picture vision of wanting to help create a more peaceful world is something that gives me strength to continue despite the challenges.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The beauty of the surrounding mountains and trails in Boulder would be high on my list of places to visit with friends. Checking out the Avanti Food Hall on Pear Street around sunset (though they can definitely use more vegan options:-), eating at Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant and walking down Pearl Street. Checking out some spots in the surrounding towns of Louisville and Lafayette ( Ras Kassas in Lafayette is a great Ethiopian Restaurant). A visit to the Boulder Farmers market (pre and post covid), and walking in the surrounding area.
