We had the good fortune of connecting with Maureen Patterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maureen, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson Stitch has taught me is that hard work and dedication will take you a long way. Persistence is a key factor in building a business. You need to believe in yourself and you want to be in your career. Dream big and don’t stop pushing towards the goal in where you want to be!!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own a shop called Stitch Boutique in Denver. Our address is 4500 West 38th ave Denver, CO 80212. Our instagram is Stitchboutiquedenver. We pride ourselves on picking out the best fashion items for Denver! We also LOVE to style people. I have found that a lot of women do not know how to style themselves, they come to us for help! It is the best part about owning Stitch… Helping women feel confident and good in their own skin! Owning your own business is not easy. You have to be ON all the time. Finding a good work life balance has helped. I know when to be on for my family and on for my business. That took a while to navigate, but once I found it it helped me in so many ways! There are a ton of challenges in starting/owning a business. You just have to overcome them. It is that simple, without challenges you won’t learn from your mistakes and when you learn from your mistakes you become stronger! Stitch Boutique has been in business since 2014. We absolutely thrive on fashion and helping women find who they are through the expression of clothing. When you look good you feel confident! I believe confidence it important for all woman to have. Please follow us on instagram. It is the best way to see what we do at Stitch Boutique!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely LOVE the highlands! I might be bias because I live in Sloans Lake and work in northern highlands. But this area is the best. I would take them to obviously shop at Stitch and down Tennyson there are some great shops down Tennyson. Lady Jones is a favorite. I would take them to eat at El Chingon, Uncle, Senor Bear. I am a foodie so I like good food and cocktails. We could also venture down 32nd street then walk Sloans Lake!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give my shout out to my family! For always supporting me and what I do. Also my business partner Nicole English and Carissa Stiffler. They have been there by my side since day one and could not have gotten as far as I have without them!

Hello!
I was recently in your boutique. As a mom of 3 I appreciated the balance of fashion forward pieces as well as elevated classics. I was so impressed by clothes and charmed by the atmosphere; I checked if you are hiring! I’m planning to do some more shopping soon so I’ll check in then! Thanks for the time. Be well and peaceful often.
