We had the good fortune of connecting with McKenna Andrews and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi McKenna, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I would say that having a structured itinerary has been the most helpful habit I have adopted. Being able to build; and adhere to, a schedule allows me to set aside ample time for my work. The satisfaction felt in working with such efficiency is a reward in-and-of itself. Making it easier to keep up with, and improve upon. Without that discipline, I don’t think I would be anywhere near as productive or happy as I have come to be.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art career has always been an uphill battle. And likely always will be. I once heard someone say “Any battle can be won, if you’re clever and persistent enough.” The world will mire you with all manner of obstacles designed to frustrate and demoralize you. The trick is to find inventive ways to circumvent these obstacles and use them to your advantage. If a particular challenge offers you only two options, then create a third.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friends and I aren’t much for clubs or bars. Too noisy and crowded for our tastes. They would undoubtedly enjoy seeing Estes Park in all its scenic glory. Adjourning afterwards to a more intimate venue for a few cocktails, food, and good conversation. And probably spend some quality time binge-watching some new show in our pajamas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents deserve a great deal of credit. For it was their wisdom, love, and support that helped inspire me. And keep me moving forward even in the most difficult of times.
