We had the good fortune of connecting with Meg Luceri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meg, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
As an educator for 27 years, a soccer coach for over 20 years, and a yoga teacher for the past two years, I am deeply inspired by others. In this service-based career path, I find that I draw inspiration by using my skills, knowledge, and experience to assist in the success of others. I am passionate about using my abilities to empower and support others to reach their full potential. This creates a profound sense of purpose and is incredibly rewarding both personally and professionally.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Teaching lights me up and is my true passion, as I have spent the past 25+ years teaching journalism. As I approach retirement from education, my goal is to broaden my experience as a yoga instructor.

I discovered yoga about 20 years ago when I first moved from New York to Colorado. Initially, my practice was to balance out many years of intense soccer training, but it evolved into a much more meaningful practice. Yoga continuously teaches me to be curious about and to explore the connection between the body, mind, and breath to gain deeper self-understanding and self-awareness. Yoga is a journey of self-discovery. Yoga has carried me through the ebbs and flows of life through self-reflection. Yoga is a journey where the benefits extend far beyond the four corners of my yoga mat.

This is what propelled me to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training in May of 2023. However, it was not an easy path. During this intense three-month, 200-hour training, I was faced with a lot of challenges juggling my yoga studies, balancing my full-time school teaching and soccer coaching careers, all the while trying to maintain a healthy work-life balance. It may not have been easy, but in the end, it was so rewarding to complete my yoga teacher training, and I am so proud of my accomplishments.

My goal is to share my love for yoga with others and to leave students feeling balanced and refreshed. My approach to yoga remains ever-focused on bridging breath, mindful movement, and dedication to the present moment. I see the lightness in most situations, bringing a deeply grounding but uplifting energy to my classes. I create classes that challenge the mind, body, and spirit in an intentional and playful way.

I find there is something profoundly special about practicing yoga in community. The collective energy of the space, synchronized breath, and fostering a sense of belonging remind us that yoga is much more than just the poses: it is a deep shared connection gathered in community.

What I want the world to know about my brand or story is that if you are feeling called to do something, take the risk and do it! The young twentysomething me, who started practicing yoga 20 years ago, never even thought of becoming a yoga teacher, but here I am today, practicing and sharing what I love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow – this is a loaded question for someone who is not a native but has lived in Colorado for 23 years! Colorado is truly home, and there are so many wonderful places to explore. My favorites are:
Catch a concert at Red Rocks
Yoga on the Rocks, and/or at Nurture or Flow Yoga Studio
Yoga on the rooftop of The Golden Mill hosted by Flow Yoga Studio
Take a class at Unite Fitness
Food truck lunch or dinner, and drinks at my favorite brewery: New Terrain Brewing
Wine slushies at Barrels & Bottles
Standup Paddleboarding at Bear Creek or Chatfield
Tube Clear Creek
Hike Silver Dollar Lakes and/or Lake Isabelle
A meal or two in Golden at my favorites: King of Wings, Woody’s, Nosu Ramen, La Huacha

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for my parents, both of whom have passed away. My mom and dad both worked in education, which was the motivating factor for becoming an educator myself. They were a well of support and were always there to offer sound advice. Through the loss of my greatest source of love and support, I have cultivated an attitude of gratitude and appreciation. It is an intentional practice of shifting my perspective and focus from what is lacking to what is present. The shift towards the abundance of positive things, people, and experiences in my life feels like a profound gift, and it truly feels as if my parents continue to share their wisdom through this gratitude practice.

After the loss of my parents and over the past couple of years, I have leaned on the support of my yoga community and specifically my mentors at Flow Yoga Studio. As well as the encouragement and unwavering support of my sister, my fiancé, my close friends, and the unconditional love from my two dogs, Olive and Maple. They have all been a solid foundation of my success.
