We had the good fortune of connecting with Mia Hatley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mia, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
When I first decided to switch career paths I worked for a large software company that paid fairly well with a full benefits package . I became increasingly aware that as the days went by I was feeling confined and limited to my engagement with people and the ability to help others . My heart was not in it ! I decided to focus on what I was passionate about and that was hair art and community connection.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My passion lies within the color wheel ! I absolutely looove working with paint ! I don’t mean wall paint I mean hair paint . I feel like a kid in a candy store when I have. a full inventory of color . The sky is the limit and then some when creating beautiful hair . I’m pretty skilled with the hair cutting shears as well ! The cut is just as important if not more important! My duty and pleasure is helping others to feel beautiful and attractive or powerful and confident!
It’s important to feel good and looking your best helps to open that door!
My goal is to help others to achieve their best selves and have fun while doing it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I love getting to the mountains first ! My fiancé and I love to kayak and paddle board in some of the mountain reservoirs . I also like to take a hike up Guanilla Pass and drive up through the Continental Divide . Once we make it through to the other side I like to stop into Georgetown for some lunch or ice cream . I don’t drink alcohol but I’m usually carrying a Starbucks I’m not gonna lie . There are so many beautiful spots to see in Colorado

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shout-out to my grandmother ! Her name was Mary Lou and she knew I was a peculiar child that needed guidance to make decisions in my best interest . It was her idea for me to pursue my dreams of being independent as an entrepreneur and helped me to see that winning in life was doing the things you love !
