We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Gauthier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had a passion for helping others feel good about themselves. Opening up One Stop Barber Shop was a goal I had set for many years and being part of an amazing downtown community was what I decided to work towards!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We started out as a small barber shop in a tiny suite over 10 years ago. Throughout the years we have expanded our services and product line and became a well known name in downtown Janesville, while moving to our own storefront on Main Street.
One Stop Barber Shop has received awards 2 years in a row from Janesville Community Votes as Janesvilles best barber shop and best men’s grooming products.
We specialize in men’s cuts and beards and have our own line of grooming products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Janesville is known for our beautiful parks and the Ice Age Trail that goes on for miles. Take a walk or jump on a bike. You won’t be disappointed!
Whiskey Ranch and Looking Glass are a must if you want great bar foor and drinks.
We have many supper clubs and a great farmer’s market in the summer and fall.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Rock County community welcomed us with open arms and we have the best customers to thank for our continued success. We have continued our growth throughout the years all because of our community.
