We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly Lewison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Molly, why did you pursue a creative career?
A creative career is the only career that challenges me enough to keep my interest.
I am someone who has an interest in a lot of different things and owning my own floral design company allows me to wear many hats. Some of the hats I wear really well, some are more challenging, but being able to switch up my role within the day is so great for my brain. I utilize my creative and logical brain everyday and the balance is everything to me.
A creative career also pushes me to grow. Art is constantly evolving so I am always on my toes learning new techniques and expanding my knowledge.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets my business apart is also what I’m most proud of. We are personable.
I want my clients to feel like they are always getting a 1 on 1 customized experience from me. I want them to know we’re excited for their love story and we are excited to work with them. The relationship should feel mutual.
In the beginning phase each couple receives a customized proposal from me that is much more than spread sheet with an item, quantity, and price. My proposals are visual highlight the couples aesthetic. It gives them a realistic vision for their wedding.
With this level of detail and customization proposal and quotes take a lot longer but the end result is always worth it.
If you develop a relationship with your client the work becomes important and you find pride in doing your best.
I will never grow so big that we become a wedding machine that looks at our clients like a number. I know every single bride and grooms names and I want to keep it that way!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am extremely lucky to live in Vail Colorado. My life revolves around an outdoor mountain town lifestyle (with a little sprinkle of luxury because after all it is Vail.)
If I had one week to show my friend my favorite places around here we’d start with a drive to Piney Lake and hopefully see a moose.
We’d then come back to town and eat at Mountain Standard; you have to order the biscuits as an appetizer, they’re a humble dish but should not be over looked!
Then for a night cap we would stop by Root and Flower for some great craft cocktails.
To start our next day off right we’d go to Hygge Life Cafe for a cortado. We’d sip leisurely on their adorable patio and catch up.
Then off to wild to do some hiking or fishing.
The best part about where I live is the access to the outdoors I try to spend most of my days off outside.
Honestly my favorite thing to do is pack a cooler with the most elaborate, delicious ingredients and go camp.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have this letter board in my apartment. After a particularly bad day I wrote something mean about myself on it. I don’t even remember what. I was just starting out with my business and feeling overwhelmed and scared.
I came home and my husband had changed the phrase on the board to “You will never fly if you don’t jump.”
A small gesture but its all I needed to take that leap of faith and pursue my company full time.
My husband is very much the backbone of my company. He has supported me in so many ways, helping my with administrative work, building props, helping me process flowers and encouraging me.
Without his faith I would never have started my business.
