Meet Natasha Diodata | Owner, Scent Creator, and Chandler

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Diodata and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I already knew that I wanted to make candles, but I was asking myself how we would stand our from the crowd. I ordered some miniature glass jars to see if they would work, and viola! They did! I was enamored with how cute they were and how well they worked. A friend mentioned that they were Adorable and it kind of snowballed from there. We started out making tiny candles, and the scents I created were concoctions of childhood memories I wanted to relive.. Hardware store, Carnival Night, Thunderstorm; these scents are all very personal to me and I wanted to share them with others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a self taught graphic designer who loves playing with photoshop. I use this program to create all of my labels that I design.. As far as how I create the scents that we carry…I guess I owe those thanks to my olfactory senses. I think what I do is a little bit different than most chandlers in that I am not just taking one fragrance and slapping a label on the jar. I tend to use lots of different fragrances from many different suppliers to achieve the scent that I create in my mind. I try to use situational factors when developing scent – for instance, when I was creating our “hoodie weather” I wanted a little bite, and for me, a scent that bites is eucalyptus – so using a measured amount along with the other fragrances like cotton and heather, helped me achieve that experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Dio Denver Tour! Pre-Covid we had lots of friends and family visiting on rotation and we dubbed the places we frequented the Dio Denver Tour. Depending on the interests of those visiting, some must-sees included Coors field, Red Rocks, Lost Gulch Overlook, Union Station, Celestial Seasonings Tour, The Highland Tavern, Hop Doddy (my favorite burger joint EVER), Tattered Cover Book Store, Golden, Louisville, Mount Evans, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Estes Park, RMNP, Denver Art Museum, Cheeseman Park, Renting Scooters, and Punch Bowl Social before they changed their menu.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My best friend actually gifted me my first handmade candle when she asked me to be a bridesmaid and I was hooked. I owe this entire process to her. Thank you Melody!
