We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Fuller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nate, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When we were younger it was always balls to the walls for the band. Now that we’re older, and especially because we are in a pandemic we’ve been focusing more on getting to know ourselves. Music is our life. We love playing live and we love making the music, but it’s nice to have some free time to explore new hobbies and ambitions.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned with becoming an artist is to not put your life on the back burner. If you love it, by all means go for it and don’t create a backup plan. But don’t neglect those little moments in life where you can have fun. Discipline yourself but don’t forget to cut loose sometimes. It’s hard to tell someone how we stick out from others. That’s a hard question. I’m not sure, I think we achieved that sound on our latest record “Scared of Everything”. We’ve become comfortable with our own skin at this point so we’re not trying to sound like our idols anymore. And I think that was one of our biggest challenges within the band. When we first started out, we would always compare what we’re doing to the bands we love. But now we don’t care and just make what sounds cool. d
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably take them to Art With Heart. It’s the best tattoo shop in Colorado. It’s ran by a lot of cool artists in Aurora. Of course I’d take my buddy to go see the mountains or something, but tattoos are always fun too.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The guys at The Spot Studios have become a huge part of our success. We met them about 5 years ago, and we’ve been working with them ever since. It’s really cool to be able to make friends in a work environment with music, and now we are very good friends and we make an excellent team. I personally love working with Glenn because we can get lost for hours making new music, and then once we find it we party and do it again haha
