We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Guenther and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is an important part of life, we take risks when we may lose something but typically have a lot to gain. Most risks are perceived risks, in my opinion. I’ve taken risks and been excited by the outcomes… some have not paid off and I’ve gotten burned as well but it’s all part of the process.

Risk #1
In 2006 | Nick looked around at the red curtains and bouncing heads seated in the auditorium of his graduating class. People with nicer haircuts and plans to become teachers or real estate agents… He was anxious, not knowing what he wanted to be ‘when he grew up.’ He spotted his parents, who both started their own businesses, realizing he could be and do anything he set his mind to.

Risk #2
In 2011 | Nick started a digital marketing company, only to feel isolated! He was dragged through the ups and downs that business formation typically entails, working more to earn less than many peers. By finding mentors, networking events, and mastermind groups allowed Nick to grow his business while overcoming fears of the solopreneur mind. This naturally created space to travel more each year… visiting family in CO, WI, TN, MA + international friends in Asia.

Risk #3
In 2018 | Nick launched a new digital community, grounded in his passion for freedom and exploration. He finds coaches who better connect small businesses, Influencers, solopreneurs, and startups. Empowering all participants to collaborate and make a greater impact.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve changed business models 3 times, but have a strong WHY and theme for our mission that does not change. ~ Entrepreneurs need people around them to stay grounded, motivated, and moving. Catalyst Shift offers a community of like-minded optimists who lead the way in their respective industries for networking and collaboration.

“People are more likely to perform feats of generosity after observing another do the same. This effect can ripple throughout the community, inspiring dozens of individuals to make a difference.”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The facilitators we have in Catalyst are all amazing! I can talk in length about each one, but overall I’m dedicated to supporting this team of coaches and leaders.
