Meet Noah Soble | Liscenced Acupuncturist and Practitioner of Chinese Medicine

We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah Soble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was excited to create something that resonated with my values and inspirations. A big inspiration of mine is connecting to nature and the many conversations surrounding that idea. My career field is absorbed in Asian history, medical history, and human history. The relationship of East Asian Medicine to the natural world is profound. and it wouldn’t be possible without it. In that way, I felt that creating my own business had to reflect and share those ideas in some way or another. I was also tired of working for other people and thought that I could start my own thing. Although I slightly knew that it was going to be hard and new to me, I figured I would learn along the way. I knew it would take time to grow and come into its own and it still is.

What should our readers know about your business?
My buisness is an East Asian Medical Clinic. I practice Chinese Medicine which consists of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and bodywork like Tui Na, cupping, and Gua Sha (scraping). I also offer food therapy, nutrition, and lifestyle advice from a Chinese Medicine perspective.
Amongst the many different heathcare practices, East Asian Medicine is such a practical, understandable, and effective medical system that has been practiced for thousands of years and is still very much intact within East Asian culture and health sciences.
My practice is unique because I rely on the tools and practices within the complete and sound knowledge of East Asian Medicine that has been thoruoughly developed for thousands of years. Modern Medicine which is our current primary form of healthcare emerged in the 18th century. Although Modern Medicine has its merits, it also has its limitations. I encourage everyone to try Chinese Medicine because it works very well and can be an effective treatment for many acute and chronic conditions. “Chinese medicine isn’t necessarily alternative medicine, is Chinese food alternative food” – Toby Daly PhD, L.Ac
I’m excited to share practical health knowledge with the public and my community, and for non-urgent situations I think that this form of medicine can be a primary form of healthcare as well. I believe that everyone resonates with the type of health care and provider they seek. However, if you try acupuncture or East Asian Medicine and immediately don’t have a good experience with it, I encourage you to seek a different acupuncturist or East Asian Medicine Practitioner and try them out. Every practitioner has their own style and skill. With all that being said, I am very far from mastering this medicine and maybe that won’t come in this lifetime, but I’m excited and hopeful about helping as many people as I can.
Through the process of starting my own small business and clinic, I’ve come to understand the many different hats I need to wear in owning and operating this thing. I continually have to cultivate patience and trust. I’m building this from a very small scale, so it’s not that it isn’t hard but it’s just me and my patients right now. I don’t have employees so I only have to look out for myself which is simple. The hard part is practicing medicine and finding good results with my patients. It’s a skill that is a continual practice.
I think medicine is an amazing system of knowledge, and there is so much to learn from other cultures and history surrounding this. East Asian Medicine isn’t just acupuncture, it’s a large medical system that utilizes a variety of tools and methods to treat disease, and it encompasses every aspect of medicine and human life in the natural world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite things to do would be either snowboarding in the mountains here or hiking on trails. For food, I would have to stop at The Famous in Leadville, a great sports bar offering delicious Italian food, and I would also make some trips down to Buena Vista for some good food and the hot springs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my family and friends who have been supportive of me from the jump! They see and respect my vision and I’m grateful for that! I also want to shoutout all of my teachers, schoolmates, and colleagues in my field. It’s not an easy field to be in, and it has been great sharing ideas and thoughts on Chinese Medicine with like minded people.
