Meet Paige Griffith | Yoga Instructor & Psychology Professor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Griffith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ever since I started teaching yoga 4 years ago, I knew this was going to be a major part of my life. I thought I wanted to be a therapist and teaching yoga would be a side hustle or a hobby, but it turned out, I had a much deeper connection with the body than I did the mind. I knew then that this was going to be my path, and so I have been in the creative development stages of PG Yoga for about 3 years.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
PG Yoga is really a catch all business for all the ways I bring yoga into the world. I teach studio classes, privates (which are very special and so unique), I get to lead teacher trainings, and retreats. I believe PG Yoga is unique because of my training and education. I have a masters degree in psychology, and teach psychology as well. I have a Yoga for the Mind certification, and teaching is my passion. There’s nothing I love more than holding spaces of learning and growth. I am most excited about my first retreat I’m leading solo in September!
My journey to the development of PG Yoga has been anything but linear! I have had all sorts of variations, ideas and different paths I thought I’d take. Life events get in the way and I never felt “ready”, but there were some wise people around me that kept telling me I’d never feel ready, they were right and I’m so grateful I took the plunge.
Some lessons I have learned along the way:
-you have to be in alignment with your truth, otherwise you’ll find every excuse not to do it
-just show up, be messy, post even when it’s scary, put yourself out there
-we have one wild and precious life (Glennon Doyle coined that, not me) you better use it wisely, for me, that was PG Yoga
What I want the world to know about me, my brand, my story…
Yoga is a path that can create a world you never knew you needed. The deep wisdom and philosophy is bountiful and it’s a beautiful world to be in. I figured that out pretty early in my yoga journey, and I want others to experience that. Whether it’s in a studio class, a private, a training or a retreat. my goal is always to weave ancient knowledge into a somatic and embodiment focused container. Teaching is my favorite thing to do, and I think my students can feel that in class. When it comes to my brand, PG Yoga’s mission is to create spaces where people have the space to return home to their body, find joy in connection and return to their true essence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
OOO FUN!
If my best friend was visiting these are my Boulder area non negotiables.
-yoga at Yoga Pearl (I am biased because that’s where I teach) and or take a class with Lauren Lewis, she is my favorite teacher in Boulder for sure.
-dance class at Alchemy of Movement, Maria Cooper’s “Soul Sweat” is not to be missed
-coffee and pastries at BoxCar Coffee Roasters
-lunch at Dushanbe Teahouse
-Farmer’s Market Saturday if it’s in season
-a trip up Canyon to Boulder Falls, then lunch in Nederland at Crosscut
-hike and picnic at Brainard Lakes
-Dinners at the Kitchen, Basta, and of course the Bohemian Biergarten
-thrifting at Apocalypse, Heady Bauer

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Challenge to Change Inc. in Dubuque, Iowa will always have a special place in my heart. My yoga roots will forever be there. I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training, as well as my children’s yoga teacher training with this organization. Molly Schreiber, their CEO is a mentor and friend. I’m grateful for my yoga journey beginning in such a special place.
