We had the good fortune of connecting with PATRICK LAURIENTI and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi PATRICK, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
To me, it’s my persistent nature to be great, to be more, to serve more, to be the best at what I do, and to provide a level of service and experience you can’t find anywhere else. I think every consumer deserves to have an incredible experience, whether it’s at a restaurant or in a real estate transaction, and the desire to provide that and be the best I can be has led me to go the extra mile, doing the hard work and pushing forward even when I don’t feel like it.
What should our readers know about your business?
Wow, gosh, fantastic question! I am a residential real estate agent here in Colorado. 2024 will mark my 10th year in the business. I don’t view myself as just a “real estate agent.” I am a business owner, entrepreneur, marketer, and CEO. There is so much to a Real Estate business that I don’t think most people grasp. Agents are in charge of everything from admin, legal, business development, marketing, sales, client fulfillment; the list goes on. I would say I am most proud of how far I’ve come. I was 19 years old when I got licensed. I always dreamed of owning my own business, making a lot of money and more importantly making a significant impact. Throughout the years, I’ve been able to do that and more. It wasn’t easy, I remember when I started my career I went through 4 part-time jobs to pay the bills as I found my footing. Domino pizza delivery, a host at a restaurant, a warehouse worker, and finally landed on a personal assistant to my mentor. All while building a business and asking people to trust me with one of the biggest purchases of their life, and to think, I couldn’t even buy them a bottle of wine. It was hard, and it’s not that it’s gotten easier, in many respects it has but maintaining and growing is still challenging at times. A lesson I’ve learned along the way is that we humans are more capable than we may give ourself credit for. When we decide what we want, make a decision to go after it, the achievment of “IT” becomes inevitable, so long as you don’t waiver in pursuit of what you desire. The other advice I was given early on in my career was “be a good businessman” and to me, that’s no different than “be a good person”. Do the right thing, I always say, in life, it’s not whether one makes a mistake, it’s how they handle it afterwards. I pride myself on being that kind of man who you want in your corner when things go wrong, because my clients know I got their back. That, along with being ambitious and willing to put in the work, and provide people an exceptional experience, years before a transaction is on the line, I believe is what has allowed me to be as successful as I have.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Things that come to mind are Red Rocks, Downtown Denver, Ski Resorts, hiking… all the Colorado things. If I were to get more detailed, I’d first stop in Denver. We would get coffee at one of my favorite coffee spots, Nixons Coffee, then head back to Central Denver and explore the city. While I live in Suburbs, I love the energy of downtown, 16th street mall, there is a sushi spot called Blue Saki Sushi Grill, I LOVE that place. It’s close to Union Station, which is a super fun spot to walk around. Denver revitalized that area and did a terrific job. At some point, we would have to stop by some local breweries in town; there is an abundance of them, and we have a great community of craft beer drinkers. After a day in Denver, we would take off to one of my favorite mountain towns in Colorado. Idaho springs. The downtown area is excellent, bustling with different shops and restaurants. They also have Indian hot springs in town, and it’s close to one of the best pizza spots in Colorado, Bojo’s Pizza. It was a mandatory stop for my family growing up and still a favorite place in Idaho Springs. Nearby is plenty of hiking & lakes, And it’s a quick drive back into town. If it’s wintertime… you have to go up to Breckenridge, Winter Park, Vail, I mean those are must see places for any tourist coming to town. It’s such a blast, and even if it’s not winter, you can find golf courses up in those areas, and all of them have great shops and restaurants around town; it’s a fun weekend trip. Other favorite mountain towns include Estes Park and Glenwood Springs. Bringing you back to Denver Metro, Colorado sports are great; I’d grab tickets to the Avalanche, Rockies, or Nuggets. As bad as the Rockies have been over the years, Coors Field is always a great time. For shopping, check out the Denver Premium, Castle Rock, and Silverthorne outlet malls. Cherry Creek Mall is a great indoor mall and steps away from Cherry Creek North, which has a great atmosphere, plenty of restaurants, and a fun atmosphere. BONUS tip: if you can, do a snowmobile or a 4by4 tour in the mountains; there is nothing quite like being at the top of the mountain peaks overlooking the Rocky Mountains; it’s one of the more fun activities I’ve done while living here in Colorado.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife, she’s stood by me every step of the way. In fact, I can remember, in the first year of my business, I came home one day and told her I quit, that real estate wasn’t for me, and that I was going to start network marketing. She said “You can’t quit yet, you haven’t even sold a house yet”. I responded, “Fine, I’ll sell a house and then quit”. 10 years later, I run a successful real estate business. So she is the one who first comes to mind. Next up would be Khalil Nasser; he took under his wing my first year of business, opened up a job for me to be his personal assistant, and introduced me to Brian Furer, the brokerage, where I would eventually grow into a full-time successful agent. Khalil taught me a lot and gave me a chance that catapulted me to success. Brian Furer, the owner of VIP Real Estate taught me everything I needed to know at the time of how to run a successful business. He showed me how to have fun in business, network, build relationships, market and grow. After 3+ amazing years at VIP, I left and had a short sting at another brokerage before joining my current brokerage, CHR. Matt Hudson, the owner of CHR, has made a huge impact on my life and business. The first two years there I doubled my business and hit a level of production I once dreamed of. Not to mention the support staff and all the agents!! We have an amazing team at CHR. Adam Hebner, another mentor of mine has made a big impact over the years.. There are so many other amazing people who have played a role in my life, from my friends, my kids, my mom, sisters, and colleagues throughout the years, to many to name. But the biggest shoutout goes to my wife and 3 amazing kids
