We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscila Peters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscila, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My view on balance has changed. As I got older, I understood that a balanced life between work and personal isn’t a luxury, but truly a necessity. I’ve put in a lot of work to change this limiting concept. I was raised to be my best, do the work and never give up! Which is a blessing, however I realized that things can get done while taking care of yourself. I’d never allow myself to take coffee breaks, take a walk or take a day for myself because I never even stopped to think of my needs. I was always focused on my next move professionally. Now specially, after being a mom, I’m also focused on my kid and motherhood life. So, I do believe a little time to check in with myself throughout the day by going for a hike or a bike ride with my son is a must! It is one of the keys to keep you healthy, happy and balanced! Also, it keeps me focused and positive because the balance helps me stay in tune with myself, enabling me to achieve my desires as a mom and entrepreneur.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After a few years affiliated with a real estate agency, I founded my own brokerage firm, becoming an Independent Realtor in 2015. The main decision to become an independent realtor was the birth of my son. I wanted to be as present as possible in his life, while also providing my clients with a high quality service. It’s not easy to balance personal and professional lives, but I believe it is the right path for a joyful life. Being a mom gives me fuel to never give up being the best I can be!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d start the day with a morning walk at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater. Then, grab brunch at Watercourse Foods where they serve yummy vegan food. Stop by the Denver Botanic Gardens for an after lunch coffee. And, finish the day with a great picnic in Washington Park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to send a shoutout to my dear holistic therapist Dena Gould from Light of Mine, LLC. She has helped me empower myself and break my limiting beliefs. Also, a shoutout to Jen Sincero who is the author of You are a Badass book. This books has giving me the extra fuel to achieve my goals and dreams.
