We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Bronk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachael, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor is the healing and growth of my clients! I am passionate about the work I do and feel joy right alongside my clients when they discuss feeling relief, growth, and personal understanding.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
This year I opened my own private practice, Rachael Bronk Counseling LLC. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in: anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, attachment based challenges, relationships, and life transitions. I am dedicated to offering holistic, identity-affirming psychotherapy and integrate an anti-oppressive framework into treatment. I am particularly excited about attachment work, nervous system regulation, and trauma processing with EMDR.
Starting private practice is absolutely not easy! In my early 20s I came upon the phrase “ancora imparo” meaning I am still learning. This phrase feels relevant for me every day.I love my profession and am passionate about supporting clients. Transitioning from community based mental health to private practice is incredibly edgy and constantly challenges me to trust myself. I got to where I am today with support from my friends and community. I’ve been lucky to have a group of colleagues who are in a similar position to me. As we are all starting private practice together, we have been able to have humility and lean on each other. This has felt like a total symbiotic relationship with trial and error, tribulation, and success. I deeply believe in healing and growth in community, and this has been a great example of this.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am so lucky to live in Carbondale, Colorado! The outdoor access here is unparalleled. I would obviously take a friend on a hike, and then find a spot to dip in either the Roaring Fork or Crystal Rivers. I would end the day with a dip in my favorite hot springs in the area- Avalanche Ranch. If we’re lucky we could pick fruit in Paonia or go to an art opening at the Launch Pad!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I went to the University of Colorado at Boulder and participated in a two-year community leadership program called INVST Community studies. This program was rigorous and cohort-based, and taught me how I want to show up in community and on this planet! This program showed me how to think critically about the word around me with compassion and curiosity. Director Sabrina Sideris, along with my other professors, community partners, and cohort mates, showed me how beautiful and complicated the world can be, and taught me to show up for others. This program molded me into the compassionate, empathetic, and driven mental health counselor I am today.
