We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Gayle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We were at a time in our lives when change felt necessary and achievable, and we knew that with each of our unique skillsets, we had what we needed to make it work. Infrared technology had incredible benefits for us, and we knew that our community would appreciate it as well.
What should our readers know about your business?
Our journey towards business ownership was no overnight success. It felt like with each step forward we took, we would have a series of setbacks and challenges. Sometimes it was financial–how would we come up with the money we needed? Other times it would be situational–brainstorming how to overcome a specific problem. We were naive in some cases and taken advantage of in others. But each time we worked hard to continually improve our skills, learn from others, work together, and grow in the ways we needed to make our dreams a reality. It culminated into something we love and are so proud of. Our clients regularly comment that they can feel that. The co-creative energy that our space holds onto is special. The beauty of our business is that there is nothing else like it in this area. City Sweats combines the proven benefits of infrared with the calming environment of a spa. When you enter our location, you are transported out of the hustle of daily life into a space of healing and restoration. We have done our best to consider every detail of what would enhance your visit, offering many complimentary additions to your time spent with us.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Fort Collins is a special place, offering visitors access to nature, community, and nightlife. We like to tell our friends that we’re the perfect combination of small-town and big-city. There are so many great trails to hike on that could be tackled early in the day, leaving plenty of time for paddleboarding in Horsetooth Reservoir, bike riding around town, and even grabbing a bite to eat at Snooze, The Union, or The Blind Pig. Recovering at City Sweats with your friends or family is a great way to end any trip.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The story of how City Sweats Fort Collins came to be is in no way, shape, or form a one-man show. It took the extreme dedication of our core team, Tammy Kleist, Rylee Wineland, Michael Gayle, and myself, to keep showing up and doing what needed to be done to manifest our dreams into reality. We also have incredible support from our family and friends, who would show up in ways we couldn’t when we needed them.
