We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel LeBar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Being a small business owner is 100% the definition of taking a risk. Whether you are full time in your business or part time, whether you started from scratch or created something new out of something existing, it’s a risk to put YOURSELF out there to create something that you own entirely- but there’s some serious magic in that too.

Taking risks can be as little as just straight up believing you can do something, and doing something that maybe makes you a little uncomfortable. Those are the risks I’ve taken and can stand behind that have gotten me to where I am today.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a luxury picnic and event experience catering to small gatherings for big memories! What sets us apart is the level of service we aim to deliver, being in constant contact with our clients to make sure their event is exactly what they are hoping for and to ease any nerves going into it- a lot of people use us for proposals, elopements or even their first dinner party! We also completely customize events to what our clients are looking for, so color scheme, little details, add ons, are all unique to each event and picnic.

We also have some very unique offerings- partnerships with vacation rental properties for discounted rates and artistic elements no one else offers, including live tablescape painting- where I will paint a tablescape LIVE at your dinner party as a fun and unique entertainment option.

No small business owner will ever say it is easy. If it was easy, would you care as much as you do? Motivation is the number 1 thing in my book to overcome challenges. You have to be so open to learning in order to keep going. With every mistake follows, “well, we learned from this, it was a learning experience and now we know” and I think that helps give challenges more value than being simple frustrations.

Our brand is ever evolving. We keep up with trends and are always open to new ideas! Being in such a creative business, you really get so many unbelievable opportunities to meet fellow creatives, be a part of a really cool community, and touch peoples lives. I mean, we are involved with the most special moments in our clients lives- from anniversaries to weddings to proposals to baby gender reveals. We couldn’t be happier to make such an impact and that is why each and every client booking is handled with care, because we’re just so happy to be a part of these special memories.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Love this question! My husband, Bryce and I are big date night people and love exploring new and exciting things going on in Denver. If my friends are visiting for a week I’m going to suggest staying at some great airbnbs, like Haute Haus or DBDens, or if they want a downtown getaway, we love the Maven Hotel! They were so kind during our one night stay right before our wedding weekend.
