We had the good fortune of connecting with Ramon Marquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ramon, how do you think about risk?
For me risk taking has been essential in my growth. I believe you cannot grow in a comfortable environment and or situation. Personally in order for me to take my tattooing to the next level, I felt I had to change my entire environment.

Moving my family and I from Wichita to Colorado 7 years ago, selling everything with no real back up plan.
I believe that to be a big part in the growth, knowing that there is no other option but to succeed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For me it’s been a very long journey to get where I am today, as one can say I am a prime example of what working hard and consistent at something, constantly pushing yourself and holding yourself accountable for everything can do for your life and career. I personally believe it’s a model that is tried and true but not very often traveled because people want instant gratification. I’ve been working hard and building on my craft for 15 years and held my self to the fire the entire time., I would only hope good things would come from it,, and they definitely did.

I would want people to get from this is that anyone with drive and passion can turn anything into a profitable and successful endeavor no matter the path. If you stay consistent and work hard anything is possible.

I believe what sets me apart from others is im willing to put in the work. I come from a hard working background and never have been afraid of getting a little dirty, I’ve personally been working since the age of 14, with little odd jobs here and there at the beginning to me being a quality trainer at an aerospace company right before tattooing took 100 percent control over my life in 2014. I knew if I applied this to my work as an artist that my growth could literally be limitless. There is no ceiling in tattooing, there is always something to learn, new techniques new equipment. It’s something that is constantly evolving and I wanted to be a part of that.
Something I learned along the way, is in tattooing it gives you back what you put in. Meaning if you dedicate your time and focus, genuinely, it will show
In your work. If the focus at the beginning of your career is money you will not grow, your satisfaction is monetary and will always come up short.
I always told myself if I put my head down and work harder then everyone around me, I know when I pick my head up I’ll have everything I’ve ever wanted, and it’s seemingly completely becoming a reality.

Something that I want people to know about my story is that is deeply rooted in family. My childhood was not the best family environment ever, as such is the story for many, so I knew as a young man that when I did start a family it would be with someone that had the same vision. I believe that has been essential in my growth as a man and an artist. Having a solid parter I can rely on and her being my number one supporter has been crucial in all my growth. Without my wife Yuri, there is no tattoo303marquez and no Eze-Boi Family.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m on the older side of life now as a 37 year old so for me I like to go to Golden Canyon and check out the scenery there. They have a train that runs through the Royal Gorge that has an amazing dining experience. Especially if you are Lucy enough to get the vista dome lounge. Estes park is another beautiful area I like to take friends and family visiting. The tour of the Stanley Hotel is one of my favorite things to do. Being so close to Halloween now, I might have to take another trip soon.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this to everyone who have believed in me and supported me throughout my career. There are countess individuals that in some way, large or small, good or bad have molded me into what I am today.

I can only hope, I can in some way
reciprocate that energy back into the world.
