We had the good fortune of connecting with Randi Pilon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
What’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
It’s the thought that counts
Our actions (or inactions) matter. Thoughts, intentions, wishes, etc do influence who we are however, it is our actions that make us who we are.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Minimal Market gives us the opportunity to invest our time and energy toward causes we are passionate about. We want to positively contribute to the health of our families, our local environment, and the planet.
Shopping in bulk, reducing the amount of single-use plastics, and consuming products with minimal-length ingredient labels can help. This storefront gives us the ability to have a meaningful impact on those around us as well as take realistic action towards improving the global challenges we all face.
Opening the store was “easy” once we became comfortable with being uncomfortable. Regardless of where this endeavor leads, we will not look back 20 years from now and wonder “what if”.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are of course very intentional about sourcing food as local as possible. Living in CO, there are several restaurant options that also hold true to these values. Additionally, regardless of the time of year my friend would be visiting, there is no shortage of outdoor activities this beautiful state has to offer some of our favs are – hiking, biking, skiing, paddle boarding, & golf!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am if it was not for the love and support from my husband, Ben. We are a team of equals and do our best to lift one another up daily.
