Meet Reiker Edstrom | Electrician & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reiker Edstrom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reiker, what makes you happy? Why?
Wilderness. Family. I have always loved the woods, since before I could remember. The feeling of being miles from the closest human is where I feel closest to God, hearing nothing but utter silence, is where I feel most at peace, so I try to go there as often as possible. Family, because no matter how many amazing mountain ranges and majestic creatures I’ve seen, my family is still the most beautiful and where I feel the most love.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Electrician. I love being able to build and see buildings, houses, business being turned into what they are supposed to be. It has never been easy. It’s hard work, difficult, complicated, intensive work that pushes me everyday to be better. I learn new things everyday, even after almost 6 years in the trade. It’s so much fun to be able to design something and build it, and see it come to life. That’s the best thing about doing what I do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Grab a tent. We are going to the mountains. We are hiking as far away from society as we can. Nothing to see but trees, wildlife, mountains, rivers.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
