Meet Rex Dsouza | Singer performer entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rex Dsouza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rex, how do you think about risk?
I think not taking a risk in life is the biggest risk..Risk is something that makes or breaks your life..I used to work in a call Centre collecting credit card bills, had a decent salary I took home but wasn’t enough,I took the risk of taking my singing as a full time carrier and gave audition in a reality show and came out as a runner up of the show, this changed my life completely..I made more money than I ever imagined I would make..I travel the world with my band perform and entertain people and I get paid for this, the most important thing is I am enjoying what I do..I am not doing something just to make some money to pay my bills..So taking a risk in life Atleast once is super important to pursue or to Atleast try to do what u want to do in life..So remember not taking a risk in life is the biggest risk..Sometimes u don’t buy a house coz you think you won’t be able to put the mortgage but sometimes we don’t understand that as long as we don’t take that risk we won’t ever know if we can ever be able to pay the mortgage..So in life taking a risk is very important
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started singing at the age of 5..never took any formal training but I started doing small shows for indian railways and step by step go to the big stage..I remember singing for 3hours for 100 rupees (2$) which is unbelievable but that’s how I started life..It wasn’t easy at all but those tough days made me what I am Today..I was the runner of a reality show called FAME GURUKUL back home in India..
I participated in 3more reality shows after that which were called K FOR KISHORE JO JEETA WAHI SUPERSTAR..Life has changed completely from sleeping in local trains in the city of MUMBAI TO now owning homes in mumbai and the US I am very thankful to each person in my life who gave me every opportunity to take small steps to go towards my goal..I travel Atleast a 100 days a year and do as many shows..I have traveled the world,Africa,Europe US,I live in Colorado now but I travel to india 6-7 times a year for my shows..I think what sets me apart from a lot of other singers is that I don’t just sing I love to interact and connect,Nowadays only singing doesn’t make u great..To keep the audience entertained for 3 hours is important so interacting and making sure u sing but also entertain is important..I love hosting events and I do that as well for my shows..I have learnt that in this business u have to stay updated with everything from wearing good clothes to staying updated on music..If u look good and u can speak well on stage along with singing I think that’s it..I believe if I do a show for 1000 people my job is to make sure I Atleast make 950 of them happy, coz in this business it’s hard to make everyone happy..But if u can make 90-95 percent of the people happy I think your doing Good in life.I am on Instagram and to follow me you can check

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It depends on where I am,if I am In Denver Colorado where I live there are so many places to go to..I love the mountains I would definetly take my friends to aspen for sure..maroon bells is my favourite place to visit here..Eating wise I am a breakfast person so I love my mornings there is a place called happy cooker in the mountains in Loveland Georgetown I absolutely love that place for their brunch..There are so many other hikes such as the hanging lake and glenwood springs where they have the natural hot springs..If I am in mumbai I lobe the night life there..You can have indian food even at 3am..Butter chicken and naan aaaah !!!! My favourite and I love the Chinese food in mumbai that’s my favourite..I would take my friends visiting mumbai on a late night drive to south mumbai to the tak hotel where Ialways go when visiting and I have chai and kheema pav (minced chicken or goat with break..these are my two favourite places
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout-out to people in my life who taught me to fight it out and go slow in life, take little steps towards your goal and never rush towards anything..I want to take this opportunity to thank my mother who pushed me to give an audition and making me believe that I can do this and be in the top 15 contestants in the country (India) ..My mother is my inspiration for what she has done in life for me..Also my music teacher back home who gave me small opportunities where I would stand on a small stage and sing even though I wudnt get paid,But that small stage gave me this big stage in life..Now I perform around the world people come to watch me pay for my shows what else can I ask for?
