We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhett Haney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rhett, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think branding itself needs to stay consistent and not change over time. Not just the branding but the image of the band as a whole. When folks come to watch us perform they want to KNOW what they are getting into before they will sign on. Us being very consistent with our branding and product I think has helped us be successful.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing I like to point out is that my musical group always goes the extra mile to make sure all fans have something to enjoy at our show. There’s always going to be people there who don’t dance so we try to give them something visual to look at while we are performing. I can’t stand seeing bands anymore who just stand there like a lump on a log and expect to be entertaining. To achieve this effect was not easy. We have had to be conscious of our own image on stage. We have also put quite a bit of money into our visual representation on stage. For instance we have video monitors and a synchronized light show at every performance.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Obviously a concert at red rocks would be number one on the list. For food, it’s rare that I’ll find a bad Mexican joint so just about any Mexican food place in town would do. For drinks, you could never go wrong down in Parker Colorado with the few little live music establishments, Tailgate Tavern and Studio @ Mainstreet are a couple examples.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Although there haven’t been a lot of folks in my life who have supported my musical direction or decisions therein, I would say one man I worked with for about 7 1/2 years definitely taught me the “do’s and don’ts“ of the business. Walker Williams
