We had the good fortune of connecting with Rick Trenk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rick, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe that success in any field often depends on a combination of factors, including hard work, dedication, and the ability to adapt and learn from past experiences. It can also be helpful to have a clear vision and set of goals, as well as the support of colleagues, mentors, and others who can provide guidance and encouragement. In addition, having a strong understanding of one’s target audience and being able to effectively communicate and connect with them is important for success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Uplift International is a transformational coaching company focused on ancient and modern energy, mindset, and embodiment practices. Unlike traditional therapy, our approach is more that of a personal trainer. We help you recognize unprocessed trauma and toxic behavioral patterns, and then implement actionable practices and solutions to help our clients move forward. Overall our focus is geared towards achieving specific goals in the present and future, whereas therapy may focus more on understanding and processing past events. Our approach is tailored, and allows for the individual to see immediate pathways toward reclaiming their life and walking authentically in their power.

I have gotten to this point with my company largely due to the inner work I needed to do on myself. The deeper and more vulnerable I went within, the louder the calling for helping others became. As a man it can be hard to open up to women out of fear of judgment or lack of truly understanding, which is why I as a man wanted to create a place for men to know they are understood. It has not been an easy ride but the relationships I have built along the way provide much ease in knowing that this is my calling. There is no greater joy than seeing a men become healthier versions of themselves.

Some of things I would like the world to know about Uplift International is that the need for men to have a place to express themselves authentically is needed. Between societal and relationship pressures we men are often told to “suck it up, don’t cry, get over it, tough it out, etc.”, and all this is doing is creating toxic programming and emotional blockages that impact our physical health as equally as our emotional well being. I want the world to know that Uplift is a space for men to express their authentic selves without fear of rejection or lack of understanding. The world needs healthy men and the practices and solutions we provide are helping to restore men back to their authentic selves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would take them to Red Rocks to see some live music. From there I would recommend trying out a number of different taco shops. A visit to Meow Wolf followed up by a sporting event would also be on the list. But, if I am being true to myself I would take them out the lake and have an afternoon wakesurfing session.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The energy of my gratitude is targeted towards a single person, my partner Kelsi. Her support of my journey over the years has been nothing short of amazing. She is a woman that is deeply rooted spiritually and has an intuition that has spoken boldly over my life. She continually pushes me to experience new activities which have brought much grow outside of my natural comfort zone.
