Meet Rob Lohman | Interventionist, Speaker and Global Podcaster

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rob Lohman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rob, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is directly related to my personal values being the foundation of and reflected in the branding of LIFTED From The Rut. Makes the whole experience and process so much more pure and true to who I am.

Also, seeking input and expertise from trusted mentors and successful entrepreneurs who also share a similar value system. This has helped to fine tune the messaging behind LIFTED and strategies for sustainable growth.

My business exploded after I invested my finances and my time into hiring the best business coaches: Nick & Megan Unsworth and James Malinchak! I hesitated to make those investments because I was focused on the present “cost” versus the future payoff. So glad I made the jump, because now I am a Bestselling Author with my latest book The Addiction Intervention Book (www.AddictionInterventionBook.com) and have a thriving coaching and intervention business.

What should our readers know about your business?
In the mess… is the message!

To be able to press through the perceived obstacles in my life and experience breakthrough after breakthrough, I believe that being able to see the beauty in the ashes while expressing gratitude for the lessons learned is what separates me from others in my field.

I am in the business of restoring hope, identity and purpose to people seeking to live a transformed life. Whether it is breaking free from an addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, fitness……), trying to get your life back on track after incarceration or just moving beyond a stuck point in their life, I am passionate about people seeing freedom in their life.

I found sobriety after an attempted suicide on June 8, 2001 and never looked back. I knew I was saved and created to help others discover the same freedom…yet I had no clue how that would come to be. A theme continued to flow in and out of my thoughts around helping people get out of their ruts in life. That theme became the name of my business in 2015 called Lifted from the Rut where I get to help others through sharing my testimony, Professional Interventions, Recovery Coaching, Speaking and being the host of my Beyond The Bars Radio Podcast and Addiction, Freedom & Faith Podcast.

The road from 2015 to 2022 resembled a rollercoaster at times, with high peaks and low valleys, with the reward of helping thousands of individuals and families begin to live a transformed life. As an excited and passionate business owner, I jumped right in…… learning all I could around the field of interventions, seeking out mentors, educational trainings and deepening the roots of my Faith. Those mentors, to which I am grateful for, include entrepreneurs, interventionists, therapists, colleagues, family, friends, pastors and people in recovery.

Along the way, the realization arose that helping people was great, but without long term vision for the business, the business could perish AND my reach would be limited. That began the journey of “What’s the Mission and Vision of LIFTED?” Here is what I call the Divine Download of the foundation of LIFTED From The Rut.

LIFTED Mission Statement

Restoring Hope, Identity and Purpose to the Addicted (2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.)

LIFTED Vision Statement

Freeing Prodigals from addictive behaviors and mental health struggles by understanding and living from their Identity in Jesus Christ. (Luke 15:24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.)

As you can see above, my Christian Faith is the core of who I am and the foundation of how I operate my business. My client mix includes a variety of faith backgrounds, not just Christians. Addictions don’t discriminate, and neither do I. Addictions want you whether you are black or white, male or female, wealthy or poor, employed or unemployed, Christian or not. And you know what?…… recovery also wants you whether you are black or white, male or female, wealthy or poor, employed or unemployed, Christian or not.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hiking and camping are two of the best ways to fall in love with Colorado! Start with a trip to COSTCO to supply up for the week, then hit the road.

Starting with a 3 day, 2 night camping trip to Wellington, Lake in Bailey, Colorado. A peaceful, non-motorized lake with lakeside camping.

Then head over the mountains to Buena Vista, CO for a day of whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River…followed by dinner in Leadville, CO which is the highest incorporated city in North America.

Spend a couple of days in Vail, Colorado enjoying hiking trails, food, and touristy summer activities.

Then over to Denver International Airport for their return trip home (although I know they will be kicking and screaming to only shortly relocate to Colorado because they caught the Rocky Mountain fever!)

Wow….I am ready for that trip myself!

Nick & Megan Unsworth of Life on Fire poured so much of their life into helping me truly soldify the successful direction of LIFTED From The Rut. They opened my eyes to the importance of stepping into my calling, to “leveling” up and “building the plane in the air” to speed up the momentum towards success, and to encouraging me to never quit because the true “secret sauce” is that as I continue to seek God for direction…that He will show me the path.

James Malinchak, who was featured on the ABC Hit TV show Secret Millionaire, who continues to encourage and mentor me on the creation of my speaking platform which rolled out in 2022 called Restoring Hope, Identity & Purpose to Living a Transformed Life.

My wife, Jen Lohman, and 2 amazing children…. who continue to stand behind me and encourage me to press on and follow the calling God has placed in my heart.
