We had the good fortune of connecting with Rockstar Aaron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rockstar, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Thing outside the box. I think it’s very important to do something nobody else is doing and diversify your business without causing too much confusion with your core audience, which can be difficult unless you’re a one-trick-pony.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a DJ, in 2012 I decided to intergrade an event into my DJ set by launching an weekly event called Forbidden Bingo. The concept is to provide taverns and restaurants a unique high energy bingo event and give away top Adult Prizes. I have partnered up with our presenting sponsors Romantix and Le Bakery Sensual, a staple in Denver, to bring something different. Rather than farm the event out to 50 other ‘mobile dj’s’ and oversaturate the market, I decided to focus on quality and every little detail of the event rather than put out a thrown together product.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d probably take to my event Forbidden Bingo which is held Tuesdays at ‘Bout Time Pub & Grub in Arvada and the Riverpoint Sheridan location on Wednesdays. We do an online edition which you can play at home by signing up at forbiddenbingo.com
Back to my friend visiting. The only thing I can make for lunch or dinner is reservations. You will find us at Kona Grill or Denver Chophouse. Maybe Melting Pot. I tend to frequents places people go for birthday celebrations because I love the energy of people celebrating.
I like to hang out at clubs that I don’t DJ at to see the music crowds are responding to. We would probably go Tracks or Milk and end at a Colfax Dive bar.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many other DJ’s and Entertainers that inspire me. I love the energy of GRiZ. Everyone from showbiz mogul Joan Rivers, Entertainer Jackie Beat, the legendary Cyndi Lauper to people like Justin Tranter who has reinvented themselves as a successful songwriter. There are many who inspire me every day and to keep working.
