We had the good fortune of connecting with Roderick harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roderick, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly I couldn’t find alot of clothes I liked. I wanted something that was more than a t shirt or a hoodie. I wanted something that nobody seen before, Something so new, with a real meaning behind a brand. Bring back the street art.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We started 6000ftbelow clothing because we wanted the Colorado vibe, but with more of a underground feel. The company’s name meaning comes straight off the top of Pike’s Peak at 14,115ft and with Colorado Springs elevation at 6,035ft; so being underground we’re 6000ftbelow.

The 6KFTB logo was inspired by the snow capped Rocky Mountains, we changed it up to look like an ice cream cone; bringing about the ice cream mountain logo. 6KFTB clothing was established in 2014, and we are still hustlin hard, with vision to spread Colorado flavor worldwide.

6000feetbelow clothing line up features custom graphic design fresh from the mountain. Our designs are currently available on hoodies, long sleeve shirts, T-shirts, hats, stickers and we are adding more designs and apparel options with the seasons. Our goal is to gain more exposure, by bringing visibility to the unique Colorado lifestyle. We are working to expand from primarily online sales, to having our merchandise available in stores locally, with the goal of worldwide. COVID can’t stop our grind, we’re dreaming out loud and creating new designs.

There’s more to 6KFTB that dope graphics, we are a brand with a mission. From the beginning we have sought out opportunities to support our community, utilizing our platform to elevate others. Weather it is working with a Denver-based non-profit to help bring awareness to homeless teens, sending clothing to aide natural disaster relief, or the Black Lives Create festival – we’re keepin it 6000!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Breweries Colorado springs is known for that. A concert at the red rocks. Downtown Denver is beautiful to see at night. You gotta hit the mountains even if you don’t ski or snowboard. Breckenridg has alot of shopping, places to eat. Plus the views are amazing

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Michael Fasut is the artist he created the logo and more. Anthony Hill created some designs, Anthony prints all the clothing and more. We’re all involved in the company in different ways
