We had the good fortune of connecting with Rossi Dimitrova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rossi, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Being completely honest with myself. We humans tend to see what we want to see. Based on our conditioning and the Karma we arrived with we often look for evidence to reconfirm our sense of insufficiency. During my 1st Yoga teacher training my teacher asked me” Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?” At that moment I realized that I am more committed to being right about my shortcomings than being free. I always believed that I was an authentic person until I realized I was working really hard to hide my perceived flaws, and what I really thought of vulnerability was that it was a weakness. At that moment I decided to be radically honest with myself. Not mean, but really question all my actions and reactions, so I can regain my power and live the life I truly wanted. Turned out that Vulnerability is a superpower.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I wear many hats, From yoga teacher and mentor to Deliberate mind designer, energy alchemist, to Artist, photographer, and graphic designer.
I have always been creative, and I began my artistic journey in 7th grade.
I started practicing yoga after the loss of a loved one when I was 17ish, practiced on and of for years until I took my first official Yoga training in 2014, when I realized I would like to be a Mind designer, although I had no idea what that was called at the time. Here is how this realization came about. My teachers led a session with us. It was called Define the Lie. It was simple. We witnessed a situation that my teachers set up without our knowledge. Then they asked us what really happened, what did we really witnessed. Everyone started making up a story about the situation. In the end, our teachers revealed that they staged it all up and it turned out none of our stories were true. Not even close. This is how we humans operate. We interpret our circumstances by the lens we look at, even if it is unaligned with the Truth, it feels true to us. It feels real. Later that day we unpack some of our perceived truths so we could uncover what is the lie that we lived by. I saw it in my work and those of my mates how much we do live by a Lie we constantly tell ourselves and then we go on to search for evidence to reconfirm we are right, even if- at the end- we sacrifice our freedom and happiness.
This work in the setting of my first YTT was the catalyst for me seeking how to help others uncover the Lie they live by. Yoga philosophy has been the greatest tool to reach the truth. Through the studies of Yoga and some great authors such as Don Miguel Ruiz, Michael Singer, Deepak Chopra, Byron Katie, Peter Crones work, and more, I have developed a program- Deliberate Mind Design, where I hold space for humans to understand their true nature, face the reality they have created for themselves and take tangible actions towards their freedom.
I often intermittent the work with Reiki energy alignment or traditional bodywork as we keep our issues in our tissues ( something a teacher of mine used to say 😁). This work is not one time and done. It is not a magic pill, although I have seen some pretty quick results from myself and clients. But this is such liberation and I get so excited to see my clients transforming and enjoying life instead of suffering through it.
On the Artistic side, I am completing my Graphic design degree this spring and I am very grateful. I have been an artist all my life and during Covid I decided to expand to another form of artwork that I can do virtually and from anywhere and everywhere. I am what they call – the forever student. I love learning and am currently in another one of the Mastermind programs developed by Peter Crone. There is always something I like to know more of and I am excited to see what unfolds next for me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love food and I love sharing it with friends. I cook a ton and like to explore. Some of my favorite spots are Cuba Cuba and Denver Poke company. They are locally owned small businesses and I like supporting local businesses too. The food is always amazing there. For Colorado newbies I feel like Red Rocks is a must. I can just sit there all day and night. There is something about that space that truly energetically speaks to me. I also love hiking and being in nature. I absolutely love finding new hikes and definitely would show my friends the beauty of Colorado. Recently I spent time in Steamboat and I would take anyone there, maybe even selfishly, so I can spend more time in that little piece of heaven. I enjoy dancing but don’t really care for nightclubs anymore. Salsa dancing at laRumba definitely hits the spot, and everyone there enjoys dancing not just getting drunk. Mercury Cafe for Swing Dance is also fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
